My wish is to get hot enough to get a 3 seed. I really don't think its out of the question if they play the way they are capable. A top 10 SOS with a strong finish could boost us up there. I want off that 4-5 seed line.

Every time Huggins got a 1, 2, or 3 seed he lost in the second round.

Things rarely go according to plan in the BE. I fully expect them to lose a game to either Rutgers, Seton Hall, Providence, or Nova and then win at Louisville.

Barring a loss to Nova the first part of that prediction has held up. Every year they win/lose a few unexpected conference games. In the end they'll once again have a good tournament resume to show for it. At least this year they have something to show for the OOC portion of the schedule.

Here we go. The next 5 are going to be tough....followed by a senior night W (knock on wood).

Fri, Feb 15 vsGeorgetown 9:00 PM ET (13-4; 3-3)
Thu, Feb 21 @Connecticut 7:00 PM ET (12-5; 2-3)
Sun, Feb 24 @#24 Notre Dame 2:00 PM ET (15-4; 3-3)
Sat, Mar 2 vsConnecticut 2:00 PM ET (12-5; 2-3)
Mon, Mar 4 @#5 Louisville 7:00 PM ET (16-2; 4-1)
Sat, Mar 9 vsSouth Florida 4:00 PM ET (10-7; 1-4)

7-5 in the Big East with 6 games left to play. Going 3-3 or better would be extremely helpful. That, in itself, will be a challenge given we have UL and ND on the road.

I think we go 4-2. We have Georgetown and UConn's number. For whatever reason Notre Dame has Cincy's number and always plays pretty good against the cats.

Georgetown-W
@UConn-W
@Notre Dame-L
UConn-W
@UofL-L
South Florida-W

11-7 in the Big East

Preseason I said 24-7. That would require a 5-1 finish, which is unlikely. I am hoping for 4-2 because I would consider a 10-8 Big East record very disappointing.

The next 5 games are ridiculous. I honestly can't say confidently what games we win there. I think we will be in all of them but we could lose or win any of those games. I think playing UCONN twice in 3 games is brutal just because of their guard play.

Playing UConn twice is tough. They are banned from postseason play and thus the end of the regular season is their postseason in a sense. They are playing tough right now. We have to find a way bear minimum to at least split these last six. Four wins would be great.

The team is 7-7 in the last 14 games which is not a great sign.

For those early predictors, doesn't look like we'll hit 24-7. We'll have to accept 22-9 (hopefully). That will put us at 3-3 in our last 6 games and 5-5 in our last 10 games. Again, that's not great and almost poor.

That keeps us squarely on the bubble and probably requires a win in the Big East tournament by my estimation.

If we finish 3-3 in these last 6 games I will be extremely happy. I think if we do finish 3-3 no way are we on the bubble bc 22-9 is solid especially that some at least one of those 3 wins is gonna be against a top 25 team.

I believe I thought 23-8 but I didn't dream they'd shoot this bad this season.

Looks like a 1-4 finish; 8-10 in Big East; 20-11 overall. Will need at least 1 win, maybe 2, in Big East tourney to avoid the bubble. It is looking like a NIT year if the shooting does not improve. You are not going to win many games shooting 4-24 from 3pt land.

Well be fine. I think we win out. Micks teams always play better as of late with their backs against the wall

You ever watch TruTV?
This isn't reality, this is actuality.
"Mick's teams" have had different personnel.
If we're winning or losing, it's on Mick. He tells the team what to do.

I don't understand why you are so live by die by Mick. A lot of our losses especially last night fall squarely on the players shoulders. I think you should hold a little more accountability of the players for the ugliness that they show on the court. The players lost last nights game in the final 3-4 minutes with their poor bball choices.

Couldn't agree more. All you have to do is look at the frustration on Mick's face when the camera pans to him. Bob night spoke about it a couple times during the game. Mick is the head coach and is ultimately responsible for wins and losses, but the reality is this team does not play smart basketball. I have been saying it for weeks.
