Solid win. Limited the turnovers in the second half and played tough defense. Wilk played well save for 2 straight bone head plays that got a 7 point lead down to 3. Davis, Gates, but especially Bishop came up big. Now on to WVU and further separation from the middle of the pack in the BE. GO BEARCATS!

Solid home win. Dixon helped at times as well.
Nice to see the team show some moxy in the 2nd half.

It really doesnt mean much but how in the hell does Rutgers have a top 5 recruiting class next year?

I saw they had a lot of players coming in including a pretty decent pg, but how does a team like Rutgers get that many solid players? Esp after a star like Rosario transfering out

It's called lots of early playing time available in the best conference in the country near NYC. There are a lot of good ball players in the NY/NJ area so Rutgers is bound to get some.

The announcers were subpar, but I would rather have Mark Adams as the color commentator than that Villanova homer, John Celestand, who has called the SJU and Vill game.

Pretty sure I saw Armein Kirkland and Tony Bobbit sitting together in the stands tonight, SEC 114... anyone confirm this?

Great game. Had a wonderful time and saw another Cats win. Wish more had been down there to watch it. Go Cats.

Only 6500.

Fortunately, we won't need to worry about attendance for Saturday night at 8 pm. It should be full of students, fans and plenty of amped up UC fans.

I would love nothing more than a 20 point beatdown.

First team to 65 puts it on ice...

Ok here are my initial thoughts. First half was ugly, no hustle after loose balls, a lot of passing around the perimeter and not getting great shots. Defense was sub par as well.

Second half they started to hustle, dive on the floor and work hard. Defense was markedly better and offense got many more open shots. Still didn't make many, but at least they got open ones from moving the ball in and out. When this team gets the ball inside whether that be a pass to the elbow or post or a drive by a wing/guard, the offense runs sooooooooo much better. When they get complacent and just pass the ball around the perimeter almost every time they get low in the shot clock and either turn the ball over or throw up a terrible shot.

Thomas still baffles me. How many minutes did he play? 4 fouls, and just looks lost out there. After Thomas took a shot at one point Mick looked to Coach Savino and asked "who the F$%& passed Thomas the ball, get him out of there!" I was also disappointed in Justin last night, he looked lost. After his great performance at St. John's, I had hoped he had turned a corner, but last night he definitely looked like a freshman. Biggie continues to impress in limited play. (Which I'm fine with.) You get your spots with Biggie and that is good. Rashad carried the guys last night and led them as well. Davis continues to be a big source of emotion which I love.

Now for Yancy, does the kid even like to play ball? Yes he had a lot of boards last night, but he just looks to not even care. He walks around, doesn't post. I mean when he had #55 on him last night, the white guy, he should have posted on him deep in the paint every time, but he'd post outside the box, not fully pin him down and then turn and face the basket. The saddest thing is this kid is throwing away millions of dollars. He could be a beast. My buddy and I were talking if he had the attitude and desire of a KMart, JMax, or Hicks he could be an all american. He just looks like he goes through the motions. And don't get me started about his high screens. He rolls before he even makes contact with the guy he is supposed to be screening. Last night had he made the contact then pinned the guy behind him and rolled as you are fundamentally tought, there is no doubt in my mind he would have had 4-5 more dunks.

I don't mean to pick on Yancy, because he does do things well it just frustrates me how much more he could do and the potential he is wasting and opportunities he is going to/has missed out on.

Overall, the guys did what they had to do to win and I'll take it. Play like they did in the second half and hopefully some shots start falling and we'll be just fine. Sorry for the long babbling post.

The 2nd half, minus the first 4.5 minutes, is the style of basketball this team has played when they were undefeated. If they can put that together against the rest of the Big East teams they will be tough to beat.

-Full court defense
-Traps in the half court
-Transition baskets
-Penetration and kick outs resulting in open shots

You can't change the style of basketball your teams plays, when you go against tougher opponents. IMEO

I really liked the distribution of minutes last night. Overall I thought those are the guys we want on the court. Jackson and Wilks are interchangeable to me.
