It's not about being in shape or playing hard. It's about being in better shape and playing harder than anyone else. Love it.

I cannot wait to absolutely destroy eggsavior.

I am going to taunt every x fan I see from now until next season.

What a horrible program

I have to admit I'm in a wait and see mode. I see better than I hear and I feel like I've heard about UC going uptempo each of the past 5 years. I can probably find a similar article from last year and up until the Xavier game the offense was as slow as can be and struggled mightily to score. Cronin's teams have consistently struggled on offense so I'm really hoping this year is different. Hopefully if they really do go full out that it will at least create some easy offense off of turnovers.

Last year's team wasn't deep enough to play 10. I really think this is going to be a pressing/up tempo team as much as possible (probably until Big East play, then it will slow down some).

I agree. I think it will slow down some in the Big East games but that is to be expected because the level of competition is going to be better and they will want to control tempo too. This team will play fast as long as Cash is healthy for the whole season. The fact that Cash was left off CBS Sports top 50 PGs in the country is an absolute travesty. If I were Cash I would have that article hanging in my locker the entire season.

i hope they don't try and run with unlv. they will get ran out of thomas & mack. the rest i think wld be good strategy...jus not the rebles.

you're basing this on having never seen this team install their new offense and having not seen unlv with all of their new players. lets wait a few weeks and see which team is better at running before we jump to conclusions.

We definitely have the talent and experience to beat UNLV, but as dp3113 said, gotta see them first. I'm not worried about games like this, I'm more worried that they will fall asleep during a game against teams like Presbytrian, because if we have another loss like that this year, we will have to hear from the haters for even longer. We sometimes have a tendency to play to the level of our opponent, so we need to take it one game at a time.

Agreed however I feel like last years team was full of role players who suddenly realized they had to be stars. I don't see that happening this season.

I think this team has the strongest upperclass leadership UC has had in years. I harken back to the suspensions last season and how suddenly Cash, Park, and SK took over the primary leadership roles and how the team seemed energized and together for that stretch of games. What I hear is this trio A) leads by example by the time and effort they put in B) are very encouraging and helpful to the other, younger players whereas last season there were times that Yancy would yell and complain rather than help and teach.

I don't think that this team will have a Presbytarian type let down. It's a long season and there will be a game or two where they are flat, but I don't think we'll see a game where they simply don't show up or completely quit playing for long stretches during games.

Don't underestimate nor discount the chemistry and closeness of this group. It will be a huge factor this season.

Bearcatjeff, I think your right but I also think the ovwerwhelming reason is that there is competition for playing time on this team like never before. MINUTES WILL BE HARD TO COME BY IF YOUR NOT PRACTICING OR PLAYING HARD. This makes a huge difference.

This team will be fine Waite. Mick has a plan and will give minutes to those who deserve them. I see this team losing at most 2 games ooc but there's a legitimate chance we go undefeated before conference play

We should've been picked higher than 4th in the BE. How did Notre Dame get 3rd, they are mediocre every year. Last time I checked we went further in the tourney. I think UC would run them out of the gym this year.

while somewhat true.... i also base this on the fact unlv is lead by an outstanding senior pg a marshall and a future first rd pick m.moser. then you have the number one pf for 2012 in a bennett and 4 star guard k. reinhardt to the mix and that's a damn good team....but when you take that and add a 5 star transfer k.birch and 4 star transfer b. jones it becomes scarey good. t&m is also one of the toughest places to play in the country..look what happen to unc last year....and i think this unlv team is 5 times better this year. this isn't lon kruger slow down team we played yancy's freshman year...unlv has the potential to be a nasty beast.if uc can get a w it would be the gift that keeps on giving on slection sunday.

not sure if birch will play or has to sit out a few games. if he isn't available that would sure help uc out..
