SMU - AAC Finals

SMUs master plan was apparently to let a 35% 3 point shooting team have free reign on the perimeter. If we want to get down to it, KJ is a liability on offense and doesn't even really need to be guarded.

He's been a liability on offense all year long which is what a few of us have been saying. Thankfully it's become so painfully obvious to everyone that maybe Mick will finally give Cumberland significantly more PT. The difference in basketball instincts between the two is insane.

JC got more PT then KJ today. I think it is obvious to Mick as well

When you allow another team to shoot better than 50%, and over 52%from 3, it doesn't really matter what your offense is...it won't match that.
They don't have weak links in their lineup...we do
They are a better basketball team...damn near beat us at home and had double digit wins at their place and on a neutral floor - they just have a better team, that's all. Mostly because they shoot better from 3 & they don't have any players who will put up nothing - it's like 5 on 4 half the time.

With Cumberland in place of KJ there really aren't any weak links in the lineup. Arguably Troy when he decides not to show up, which has been often this year. But really UC has a very strong 5. Obviously KW being in foul trouble the last two games hurt.

SMU plays 6 players and yet I've read how UC was just worn out. Maybe the fact that SMU has played 6 players all year has forced them to be in better shape. Either way I haven't been overly impressed with UC's conditioning over the past several years.

Also, UC should have been attacking the rim like crazy considering SMU cannot afford to get guys in foul trouble, yet once again UC is just content jacking up 3's early in the game.

Yeah, I'd like to know how many 3's we shot in the first 5 min. Ridiculous. I know that is what the D is giving, but we need to still try to get the ball inside.
