At the start of the year I was thinking we could get around 15 PPG from each position for 75 PPG total. We are ahead of pace but we have the bulk of conference to go.

Caupain/Jenifer... Around 15
kJ and Cumberland... Around 15
Evans... Around 15
Washington/Brooks... Around 15
Clark/Scott... Around 15

I realize sub patterns don't work out like this...But we are well rounded from a points per position standpoint. Moore needs to be added in but in big games may not play as much. All in all I like the versatility we have on offense and defense with this squad. We can play Scott and KJ more if we need stops. Cumberland and Washington if we need some points...If KJ goes cold. Jenifer, Scott, Cumberland in up tempo. Washington, Troy in half court sets.

My prediction was 126 points but a 69-57 score. What do you say we just do that instead?

(Also I get the whole extrapolating the score thing but Vegas isn't predicting the score, nor do they care how it pans out. That's a common misconception. They care about 2-way action. Period. So it's not what they think. It's what they think the market thinks. And it goes from there. So Vegas isn't calling for 66-60. The bettors (public and pro) are combining to "call for" that. But with the difference in ticket count (public "pizza" bets) to overall money bet (less sharps betting more money) it's hard to pinpoint what score is actually being "called for". Bc it's assumed in order to be betting you think you're ahead of the market, thus not calling for that score when you take a side or over/under a total. Collectively it can be viewed as 66-60 I guess. But that's not really how it works. Sorry for the long-winded side note that isn't the least bit important. It just is a peeve of mine when people talk about Vegas being good just bc a game straddles their numbers.)

if you think that all the books try to do is balance the action to scoop up the vig, the misconception here is yours

Obviously they base line moves by weighing risk. But the goal absolutely is to get 2 way action. Especially for random College Basketball games.

You think they were happy to be on the hook for so much in the Clemson/Alabama game? Big games may have bigger swings but the goal is consistency. There are way too many games to leave themselves vulnerable to one-sided action. Who would be doing the gambling then?

I'm guessing that was a rough night for vegas lol

Not to bring up the schedule or shine this in a negative light but how pumped is everyone really..This is our first big home game all year. Our fans have showed up the past 2 games and Marshall was unexpectively a very big game, but this is huge. A 10 game winning streak SMU comes into Fifth Third Arena. I love when the crowd has a theme too, ring of red. I know I'm going with some friends and we have been texting each other all day excited for it.

Pretty Crazy they say they have sold 10,500 tickets so far.

I see a lot of tickets left for tonights game. I just want the lower level completely filled.

This is a game where we can earn some big respect. ESPN has been advertising this game on every game they had this week.

Looks like they had a "Pick 1" between SMU and UConn and most people probably picked the UConn game. That game looks to have less availability.

They did. I also did that mini-plan, and I also picked UConn over SMU. Had no idea at the time that the SMU game would be a bigger deal.

I'm guilty of that. I bought tickets for tonight though on Monday. After last years battles and it being on a Saturday I had to go with UCONN especially when UC and UCONN was picked 1 & 2. UCONN and SMU equally have perks so everyone just needs to go to both..any update on where we stand now as far as how many tickets have been sold?

Last Plug.

Since its obvious Im not going to sell my SMU tickets.

Im giving away 2 tickets to the game tonight. Court seats behind UC bench.

Jk.. Bearcat lair tickets but still free and still mid court and still VS SMU. Don't make me waste these

I would have been all over them if I lived in town. I can't believe no one wants them

It's extremely hard to just give away bearcats tickets let alone sell them.
Sad

I don't think that's so surprising if you're only trying to sell/give them away on here. Everyone here is a die hard fan of course. I think -- for the most part -- only casual fans are persuaded to go to a game bc $15 tickets are free at the last minute. Die hard fans either have tickets already or decided long ago that they prefer watching their big screen. Or they're like me and live out of town, wishing they could snatch up those tickets of yours.

If all else fails, walk past the ticket window on your way in and give the tickets to somebody taking their kid to the game. On the condition that they use the money you're saving them to go to another game. ;)

Would take those tickets in a heartbeat if I were still living in Cincinnati. I'll be loud from TN, lets go CATS!!!
