Whether Shake plays or not, I don't think it changes the fact we should leave Moody with a win and break that mini curse we have there. I am assuming he plays, but he isn't going to be a full go. We should be able to wear them down regardless.

They played extremely well for most of the Houston game but ran out of gas.

But at home, the home crowd can fuel you. I expect an all out battle with or without shake

SMU went on a 7-0 run to take a 7 point lead well into the 2nd half before the tides turned and Houston finished last night's game on a 17-1 run holding SMU without a field goal for the final 7 minutes of action.

McMurray and the freshman Douglas were hot in the first half combining for 26 of SMU's 33 points - mostly off 3s. They combined for 2 points in the 2nd half and SMU obviously lacked a go-to scorer down the stretch.

Yah...they are still better than most teams in the league even without Milton. I expect him to play though. They are still a good team.

Yeah I agree, especially after seeing them play that well at Houston. Couldn't believe they were in it til they final gave out. It's going to be a tough game for sure.

I think this game is a must win for us. I'm not liking the @Houston game on Thursday and we can't have back to back loses. It will be tough since it's at Moody and they have always broken our win streak there, but this team can do it. GO BEARCATS!!!

I think we win both games. We are the better team and I think the players understand they are chasing more then just a league championship. Really don't think focus will be a issue. If we are focused we have the talent to win both games. Houston blew a 18 point lead to us earlier. Don's think we dig a hole like that again.

I'm certainly reading into SMU folding the last 5 minutes of last nights game. 7 players takes it toll. Even with 8, our strategy should be so slowly and methodically grind them down and get a road W, and get the heck out of there.

I dont think we want to do it slowly though. We need to push the pace. They want slow, we want fast.

Also, they use a dribble drive then kick to shooter offensive philosophy. Rarely do they try and convert at the rim, their drives are all about the shooters.

I thought we defended them entirely different when we played them at BB&T. Usually SMU dices up our defense, because we "help defend" on every dribble penetration and then they kick to a wide open shooter and... splash. This time, UC stayed with their man and didn't help unless it was at the rim and it worked, they couldn't get their shooters open.

Also if Shake is playing hurt, Im all for attacking him, screening him hard and fouling him on attempts at the rim. They are walking wounded, lets surround them like wolves and go for the kill early

To clarify, what I meant was to methodically go up 3, then 6, then 9, and not try to go on 14-2 runs because it seems thats our MO at home, but is tough to pull off on the road. I'm all for sticking it to them early and often, but I don't expect us to be like we were on UCF or UConn.

SMU's downfall is in the paint - punish them for 40 minutes down there, and we'll look up and have won by 10-18.

When we get Kyle scoring points it takes us to a whole different level. Teams are doubling Gary now making his production very difficult. This generally means Kyle gets man on man coverage which he has been killing lately.

Double team or not, Gary is finding production offensively. He scored 10 points in the first 2 minutes of the second half of the UCF game. He scored 14 vs Houston, 18 vs memphis and 17 vs temple, 17 @ UCF with Tacko, 18 at home vs SMU etc..

i don't expect many fouls to be called on SMU. The refs know they bench situation and its also at home. We won't get many whistles like we did at BB&T. I'd almost say SMU ends up with less than 10 total fouls

I optimistically hope for the opposite. Gary should get 3 touches down low the first 5 possessions. Score easily, or draw fouls.

They really can't be too aggressive on us anyway with a short bench.
