Great oppurtunity Thursday. SMU was just ranked #23 today, so we will be playing our second ranked team this year. I would love to see UC win this game, and they should come out fired up and ready to play. But with a hot SMU team, even though they have been playing the bottom half of the league, looking for revenge, and @Moody, I don't see UC having enough offense to pull it out...

This and (unfortunately) the Xavier game will be our only opportunities to erase Sunday's nightmare. If we lose Thursday, the Crosstown Shootout becomes a must win if we want to feel comfortable going into Selection Sunday.

SMU is very good at home and plays that pack it in style defense. Scoring will be difficult against them. If we turn the ball over, this is easily a 20 point loss...if we don't we can hang around.

I'm going out on a limb here on one of those gut feelings I get. I think UC will win this game in a low scoring close affair.

This is a tough one. We clearly aren't the same team on the road. Clark struggles to score, KJ reverts back to the guy who won't take anyone off the dribble and settles for deep 3s. I was one of the people who thought we'd bounce back in a big way in the Memphis game the last time we had back to back road games. But instead of getting back on track, we tried too hard to play perfect and lost ugly. In the 2nd half of UConn and the entire Memphis game we scored 72 points. We scored 23 in the 2nd half yesterday, so I could see a similar number as the last skid we hit. I think this team is growing up a little but learning how to handle success is a process. It may not reflect on the scoreboard Thursday, but I think the reality of what happened yesterday has our full attention. Unfortunately, we need to be in the comfort of our own gym to do anything about it. I'll say we are +9.

No just kidding. I don't care what the score is as long as UC's > SMU's
Success in February leads to tourney runs. Now is the time they need to get hot and pull it all together. Hoping to see Caupain and Clark bounce back. It would be nice if Ellis and Clark could both have double double games... Seems to be one or the other showing up

I think we lose this game. I have a feeling we will be a turnover machine Thursday. SMU's crowd will rattle us, I don't think we are mature enough to win in a place like Moody. If SMU goes on any kind of run watch out. It seems like UC quickly loses their toughness on the road. Nic Moore makes SMU go, I could see him making some big plays. I would love to be wrong but don't see it ending well. Even if we beat ECU I would say the same thing.

A November loss to Arkansas is the only time a game has been within 7 points at Moody this year.

That is also the last game they lost other than to us. SMU is 16-1 since November 25th. Honestly, they didn't play well at all in that game against us and Kennedy was not the same player he is today. This one seems like a blowout to me.

Win or lose I just want to see us bring it for 40 minutes. Guys diving on the floor, fighting for offensive rebounds, etc. Maybe give Morman a shot to help stop a scoring drought. He doesn't waste any time getting into the action. I hope he plays 12-15 minutes. He only got 6 last game. The hard part about having him at the 3 though is that he'd have to be a weak side helper and rebounder on the bottom of the zone. I wouldn't worry about him on the ball, but his rebounding kind of limits how you can use him there (especially in this game). But if KJ isn't into it, I wouldn't mind him getting a chance. Anything to give us an energy boost when we don't have our own crowd to feed off of.

They are not going to let us get shots in the paint. To win we absolutely have to shoot a season high on three's. That will open it up a bit. SMU is the best defense team we play all year in terms of a match up against us. Their defensive strategy is best suited to stop us. They will be a thorn in our side as long as we are conference mates.

Maybe not. The NCAA is about to drop the hammer on them for numerous violations. I hope they survive that because this league really needs them to be a good team.

I'm feeling a little extra Bearcat pep in my step today, so I'm going to change my score prediction.

I'm not counting us out in this one by any means. This game is all about toughness both mental and physical. I hope that is the primary message that is being sent to the players. This game will take all the toughness we have in that arena!

A late three pointer wins the game and the Bearcats overcome an 8 point deficit in the last 10 minutes.

😄

I also want to change my prediction, I feel like UC wins this one! Have had a great feeling all day!
