KU isn't that good on defense. They don't have much depth left either. Virginia is the team in the ACC imo.

Villanova & Virginia are really good teams you are right I forgot them. Bottom line is we are not going to be outmanned by any team out there. I was really impressed with our hustle by everyone today. You don't see that usually in wins this large.

At this point I don't think anyone is unbeatable for the cats. It's just gonna be about making the right plays at the right times for us and following the game plan. If we can do what we need to do we are gonna have a great end to this season.

Over 12,000 at game today.

Didn't seem like it...I don't know about sales, but the student section near the band was 2/3 empty & there were lots of empty seats around...I would have guessed maybe 10,000 actually in attendance...kind of surprising - maybe because it was so quiet during the blowout

And we did this tonight with only 45% of our minutes coming from starters. And 6% from the white guys lol. This team is good, and deep. Hope brooks is alright.

I too am very positive but let's not forget that S. Fl is an absolutely miserable team...losing McMurray killed them - I hate it that we'll see him next year with SMU

This isn't a one game thing that made me positive, it's a seasons worth of work so far. Beating anyone by 40 points is an accomplishment no matter how terrible they are. And like I said pervisouly, out starters didn't even play half the game. This could have been even uglier.

You just had the feeling early on in season that Cumberland was really going to come on strong as soon as soon as he got some traction. Like Mick said, as many times as he saw him play in high school that the bigger and more intense the stage is when Jerron really thrives. Chris Mack called him a "terminator" and you can see that in his serious and fearless play. Love this kids game. Rare type player. Reminds me so much of Deron Williams when he was at Illinois, who was a total mofo to deal with every possession. Except Cumb is a little bigger! But same frame and both are just straight up bullys with the ball. Imagine this kid with a year in Mike Rehfeldts weightroom? If you never played basketball then trust me you would hate playing the Jerron Cumberland and Derron Williams type of the basketball world. Theirs tons of high flying athletes in college basketball who are rangey and spindly. Not many 6'5 power guards built like a fridge who will punk you down hard when they have the ball. I'm really savoring this season but cannot help be giddy for our future prospects. This program deserves all the success in the World IMO after what it's been through!! This is a special group of guys who seem to have real chemistry and developing a bit of that old school Bearcat swagger!

Cumberland has officially served notice! He's perhaps just made us a legit contender.

Kids got a lot of game. He's got great range and a pump fake that actually works. He has a step back shot and a nice crossover. Loves driving to the hoop.

Deceptively good on D. Great instincts in general but for the ball on steals, rebounds, blocks etc. He uses stop and go action on offense and D to keep them guessing. Timing is impeccable.

No fear. He's turning into a top option...

Deron Williams is a great comp for Cumberland. I was struggling with who he reminds me of because in todays game most players are above the rim types.

I had my doubts about Cumberland before the season. I knew he was big time recruit and big body, but just was wondering how good he was actually going to be. Figured it might take him a few years. I can remember that was of the few things i actually agreed with LT on. He wasn't too high on Cumberland either.

I was thinking Cumberland would be able to drive some and get contact and go to the line. Being bigger built like that I figured he would be able to get some tough baskets. Little did I know that, that was going to be on a whole other level. He can finish and take it to the rack almost everytime it seems. I also had no idea that he would be able to shoot the 3 the way he does. This is for real amazing. So glad he's on our team and contributing the way he has. Evans didn't even have an impact on the X game his freshman year like Cumberland did.

I agree- cats are way better this year - just kind of ignoring the blowout...sofl also was without starting guard Thorpe, over 13pts/game & 4.4 assists hence the ungodly number of turnovers - that could have been a 110-47 game & Cumberland could have had 35

I know we were 22-2 kilpatricks year, but this doesn't even compare to that team. We are on a different level.

We are bette then that team all around but hard to judge because we played in a tougher conference then with Louisville, uconn, Memphis and we also played a few decent conference games that year.

I'd much rather have our current team though, as we are built for long term success

I know we were 22-2 kilpatricks year, but this doesn't even compare to that team. We are on a different level.

Jackson was second on team in scoring at 11 PPG and then Rubles was 3rd with 7 PPG...lol! TITUS RUBLES!! There was no supporting cast that year. We had a superstar and one serviceable big on the offensive side. Our bigs were great defenders but this is night and day to what we have now.

We have 6 guys who can score 15+ on a given night. This will come in handy in March. We could use some better FT shooting and a true "go to guy" to put the ball in their hands for a last second play...but other than that we are a much better team all around.

SK would have loved to play with this bunch!

Cumberland is well beyond his years in BB IQ. He knows how to use a pump fake and a step back.

He's moved up to 3rd on the team in points per 40 minutes just .8 behind Evans. Because of his pump fake and his awesome understanding of timing he may just become the guy who can get off a good shot with the time running down. He has great range on that deep ball and is now at 41%.

He's not Evans on D but his knack to get his hands on the ball by surprising opponents is an art form. He's become a guy we can't leave off the court when the game is on the line...outside of subbing for D when we need a stop (we can sub KJ) then put him back in.

Tremendous development for the Bearcats!
