Didn't seem like it...I don't know about sales, but the student section near the band was 2/3 empty & there were lots of empty seats around...I would have guessed maybe 10,000 actually in attendance...kind of surprising - maybe because it was so quiet during the blowout

The student section was the only place not filled according to a friend who went. UCONN will be another big crowd. The fans are finding their way back.

Deron Williams is a great comp for Cumberland. I was struggling with who he reminds me of because in todays game most players are above the rim types.

Deron Williams didn't attack the basket the way Cumberland does. He was probably at least 10 pounds lighter than Cumberland is right now. I'd say Cumberland is more like Marcus Smart but shoots better.

I know we were 22-2 kilpatricks year, but this doesn't even compare to that team. We are on a different level.

Don't sell that team short. They ran out of steam bc they didn't have the depth, but they were damn good. They did win at Louisville.

I don't care what anyone says, I'm glad we got Jarron. He's a better shooter than any of those UK freshman. Kid can shoot and he's a player. Anyone notice him n Jenifer look so comfortable running the court together?

I like Cumberland, but on his best day he isn't the shooter Malik Monk is.

Really? JC is shooting 41.0% from 3 on the year, MM is shooting 39.6%. You might say that JC has a small sample size, JC has played more against worse competition, and UK relies on MM more and so he has to take tougher shots. But then I'd say stop bringing up points that are detrimental to my argument!

I will say that JC's shot is ugly. But hey, it goes in.

I like he made improvements from Thursday to yesterday. Mick told him to practice getting more arc after X game. I really saw a lot more arc in his shot Sunday. I like a kid that listens to the coach and gets better. At Kentucky you listen more to the future agents probably than the coach. Then you are gone in a year.

Yeah, Monk has made more 3's than Cumberland has attempted this season. There really isn't much comparison.

That said, Cumberland is going to be a hell of a lot more valuable to UC next season than Monk will be to UK. As much as I would like to see UC land some higher profile recruits, the one-and-done era really accentuates the feeling that you are "rooting for laundry" if you follow a team like UK or Duke, where the player turnover is so extreme. It would be better if they either let these guys go straight to the NBA from high school, or let them get drafted & return to school, which they used to do back in the day (Larry Bird was actually property of the Boston Celtics when he led Indiana State to the title game in 1979, having been drafted the year before). Either way, it would improve continuity and reduce the talent discrepancy.

That's kinda a good idea but NBA teams would not go for it. They want to have control over the players development.
