Troy has improved his Offensive Rating Year over year ever single year.
Fr:105.6
Soph: 108.6
JR: 109.5
SR: 113.6

He is also at a all time in his career in Offensive rating in Conference play at 114.

Kenpom has the top 5 players in our conference listed; here is there OFF rating
1. Semi Oejele: 124.8
2. Rob Gray: 115.4
3. Dedric Lawson: 112.3
4. Kyle Washington 109.8
5. Sterling Brown: 113.2

Troy has the 3rd best Offensive rating of any PG in our league and is only behind Shake Milton and Alani Moore from Temple. And Alani Moore's is only higher because his usage is 13% compared to 19% from Troy.

Troy has a better Assist to TO ratio than both those players.

He had a bad game but Troy generally gets it done when he has to. But to paint a picture that he isn't improving overall offensively is just wrong

I guess it depends which metrics you are using. His PER for the season year over year is 17.4, 17.5, and 17.6 and his conference PER is 18.4, 16.8 and 16.0.

Year over year on the season is about exactly equal and his conference performance has gone down every year.

That is the stat I was looking at. I wasn't looking at ORTG...but thanks for sharing it. I am not trying to paint a negative picture of Troy...just hoping to see a bigger improvement his senior year. I love the guy!

His FT shooting is down, his 3 point shooting is down. His assist to turnover is off the charts and likely a large reason his metrics look fairly decent. His rebounds on the year are up but have taken a drastic hit in the last 7 games. His EFG% and TS% have been better and worse in previous years.

Other than assist to turnover I don't see where the improvement is coming from...but I will certainly take that improvement. One of the best in the country!!

In terms of being an efficient scorer...he's basically the same guy. One could argue with the other scoring options on the team this year his EFG% and TS% should be significantly better given that he shouldn't have to be forced to take as many bad shots (kind of like his soph season). No?

Either way I hope he can pick up the pace along with the other guards. We need some solid perimeter play.

Some positives to think about going into South Florida from out past 3 games:

Free throw shooting: As a team we are 21/26 80.1%

KJ 3 point shooting: 8/17. 47%

Asst/TO from our PG position: 21 assists to 1 turnover out of Caupain and Jennifer.

Good to see our FT percentage going up, gonna be important come tourney time. Now if we could just get everyone going at the same time. Guess good thing about Troy is he is still taking care of the ball.

If there is ever a road game for Cumberland to have a breakout performance on the road, it's surely this one. Heck, if there is ever a road conference game we score over 70 points, it's surely this one. Let's hope we jump all over this.

Really....he put 26 on them in Cincy - I don't necessarily expect that, but I would like to see the team hit at least 80 on the road for a change -they could've scored over 100 easily at home if they hadn't called the dogs off

I'm sick to the point where I might go to the hospital after the game. I don't want to see a rock fight with USF right before I die.

Well it's early but 4 min in Troy still looks like crap. Walks the ball up the floor, being super passive and indecisive on his first shot. 👏

Good news after 9 minutes: We haven't allowed any easy baskets aka no 2-point FGs for USF yet.

Bad news after 9 minutes: Only up by 3 and have not established any offensive rhythm.

I think we will see a lot more Zone in our final games if we continue to show we have reverted back to our old offense. Outside of KJ our offense looks dismal.
