does it feel like we have more big gaps in our schedule than normal? Maybe its cause we share nku's arena, but our schedule feels really spaced out to this point. our 4th conference game is saturday and i think by sunday everybody else will have 5 or 6 conference games played.

Brian Gregory has certainly had it rough this season. Puts a semi-competitive roster together in the offseason only to lose his second leading returning scorer Troy Holston (9.7 ppg) to an ACL injury and has his prized recruit, French Youth International Alexis Yetna ruled ineligible for the season.

Penn State grad transfer and current leading scorer Payton Banks goes out with an illness at the start of AAC play and the team gets blown out in 3 of their 4 next games while also losing a nail biter to ECU at home- their most winnable conference game.

I expect them to improve significantly over the next few seasons. They'll have a few more transfers eligible next year and will should return a decent core, but boy are they on the bottom now.

I'd be disappointed if we won by less than 25.

Hope Cane can play to work back into the rotation and ease the ankle back into game shape. However, if he isn't close to 100%, we don't need him.

Other than that, I want to see Cumberland come out with some fire and hit some shots. He needs a big road game to boost his confidence, especially headed to UCf where they will play zone and force us to hit 3s.

We cannot overlook USF obviously but...

UCF might be a great game to get Trevor some nice minutes. If we have to launch some 3's we are going to need to find a couple of hot hands. With the way Cumberland has been going we might need another option from 3 if he is cold. Also hoping Cane is 100% by UCF. That is another option.

Keith seems much better from mid range (than 3) when he can shoot off the move. He doesn't seem to favor the set shot which is odd. We can't shoot over Tacko when he is in so we are going to need to make some 12-15 footers. The good thing is we may only see 20-25 minutes from Fall so we need to take advantage with our bigs when he's out of the game. Our bigs can also shoot mid range so we shouldn't challenge Tacko inside like we have in the past (with bad results). We need to take what they give us.

To off of that, I'd love to see Keith get minutes since he can get to the penetrate the zone off the dribble and look to pass out when it collapses. UC's offense against a zone is always passing along the perimeter waiting for an opening for a shot. Occasionally someone pops into the high post for some inside-out action. However, Williams on the wing can catch a pass, drive quick causing a guard to maybe crash down, leaving someone opens on the perimeter. Would love to see that wrinkle.

Anyway, USF is a bad team and there really isn't cause for concern. Avoid injuries, rest the starters in the 2H and move on.

im only 1:43 in but im just laughing.

Because he is talking about offensive pace?

We are playing faster. We shaved 1.6 seconds off our time of possession from last year.

That’s a mick Cronin high.

Our overall tempo will always be slow because our defense forces other teams to use a ton of clock

average offensive possession length 17.1. average defensive possession length 17.4.

but it made me laugh because of his entire coaching career. its just funny to hear it from him.

I would also say he needs to check his turnover stats again if he thinks evans doesn't turn the ball over. also jenifers turnovers are trending way up (him and broome both have 8 turnovers in their last 5 games played)

Isn't Evans only at like 2 per game in 30 minutes?

if he says evans doesn't turn it over, then nobody does. leads the team in turnovers and has a 18.3 TOrate which is atrocious for a non primary ball-handler.

Yeah I don't think I'd go out of my way to tout his low TOs but I personally don't care is Evans turns it over twice.
