Temple: Round 2

How many times did caupain get over the half court line with 21 to 22 seconds left on the shot clock and no one was even guarding him?

Are we not allowed to start an offensive possession before the shot clock hits 15 seconds? If I'm a recruit who can play offensively, there's not a snowball's chance in hell I'm playing for coach cronin.

I really think they can not run because Clark get gasesd. They play better D with Thomas at the pf.

I'll take gary's 12 pts and 14 boards over whatever the hell shaq claims is playing basketball out there.

This is troy taking the ball after dead balls and walking it up the floor every single time.

I hope Bulldog is okay. Can someone check to see if he's alright? Especially after Troy threw the ball into the backcourt in double OT.

Lol....great post. Yep, I agree. There are no potential coaches available. We're in a coaching recession right now, probably caused by Obamacare. We should just keep Mick till after the next election and repeal of Obamacare, which will then spur on the economy, causing new coaches to return to the job market. Yes, I agree....let's carry on with the next best thing...Mick.
Wow, Way to have the longest post on the board without actually saying one thing. Not sure why you're so proud to make yourself look like a clown post after post. Constant bitching isn't being a concerned fan like you want it to seem...it's just being a jackass with an agenda

And constantly defending someone who is doing a poor job is no different. Go get Chad Brendle, Mick's loser brother, Hep and the 4 other Mick supporters and start a Mick fan club, you can post there.

Of course people aren't going to be happy when we're getting these results.

Please tell me what that agenda is.

Couldn't have said it better UCB. It's funny how the people who are disatisfied with Cronin have an agenda, but the ones who make excuses for him don't.

I have never made excuses for mick, but nice try. Sure he can maddening at times but the fact that you call for the head of the coach that has the history of getting us to the tournament year after year without having a better immediate alternative is just stupid. Even your "supportive" posts are clear you don't want Cronin here. That sir is your agenda

This brings to a close 6 beautiful days of Bearcat basketball. Squeaking by a 3-14 team. Beating an average Houston team at home, and a 2nd loss to this .500 team.

Ironically, that average Houston team crushed Temple and scored at will in the same gym that UC turned into a glorified parking lot today.

UC's offense is like watching the Princeton offense, minus the passing and cutting.

My big fear with Cronin ball is this: if you're a top end recruit, what about the basketball we're watching would make you say "Damn, I really want to be a Bearcat". Our previous coach had some ugly offensive teams but they had style and an attitude that was rarely boring. This team has all the personality of a wet mop. In an effort to change the reputation of our program, Mick has turned our guys into mindless zombies. There's no joy, there's no passion, there's nothing remotely exciting or interesting about watching this team play basketball. But hey, we have a bunch of nice guys that go to class, so Xavier fans can't call us thugs anymore. They just kick the living sh!t out of us and move on.

What I wouldn't give to have a couple guys with some attitude. Ellis could be that guy but everytime he rolls his eyes someone is calling him a hothead. He could be the epitomy of Bearcat swagger but he's been George Orwelled into dullness by a Coach more interested in perceptions than winning. Or so it would seem.

Oh...ok! Thank you for the clarification. I'm glad to hear that my agenda is in alignment with most core Bearcat fans. Mike Bohn is paid to find those alternatives, and I'm sure he is putting together a list as we speak. When that list is released, I'll be sure to make you one of the first to know which ones I would target. Otherwise, I'll be at the game Thursday night. Will you?

Lol!, watch it Doogle. It's starting to sound like you have an agenda.

Let me make it clear that my agenda is for Mick Cronin to be fired as our head coach. I was happy when we hired him, I gave him 3 seasons to impress me. After the 4th season I grew to despise our brand of basketball.

I gave Mick a chance and it's my opinion that he's never going to be good enough to get us where we need to go. I'd have fired him after season 4, it's now been 10 seasons and he's still here.

Fire Mick Cronin please, being mediocre isn't good enough.

It is amazing how much worse this team is than the team in November. Really hard to screw up what we had going. This is such low-level basketball that we're watching these days.

I appreciate quite a bit that Mick has done for the program. I know he loves UC and the city. But we're seeing the same thing over and over again. The players change but the style doesn't. Some coaches can set a style and then find players that fit the style. Mick finds good, athletic players, talks about setting a new style, but invariably ends up doing the same old crap. It's like buying thoroughbred racehorses and expecting them to flourish in an equestrian setting.

John Chaney, the man ain't.

Ohio State and Dayton to the immediate north. Kentucky and Louisville to the immediate south. Indiana, Purdue and Notre Dame to the west. West Virginia to the east. And Xavier in our own backyard. Every single program within arm's reach of Cincinnati is playing a better, more exciting style of basketball than are the Bearcats. That is unacceptable.
