Temple: Round 2

Here's the way this is about to play out. We're on the verge of embarking on an $87 million upgrade to our facilities. There is still much more money to raise. When that arena opens, there will be increases to ticket price and UCATS fees. If you think all*our fans will be onboard with paying all this additional money for this boring mediocre product, you're crazy! This will need to all be rolled out with a change and a new direction for Bearcat basketball.

Let's recount the minutes of the meeting:

1. The opponent outscores UC __ - 2 in the first 5 minutes of the game;
2. The opponent outscores UC __ - 0 in the first 3-5 minutes of the 2nd half;
3. UC winds possession after possession down to 5 seconds on the shot clock before realizing that they actually have the ball;
4. UC allows an offensive rebound that results in a direct tip-in, follow shot or a subsequent 3 pointer that gives the other team a lead with :30 or less in the game;
5. UC, with possession and a chance to win at the end, either sends Caupain on straight line to the rim (apparently he's LeBron James) resulting in a blocked shot or an ill-advised pass that results in a turnover or wild 3 that comes up short. In each of these instances, the entire play consists of a) Caupain driving the ball; b) either shooting it himself or finding Cobb for a 3.

With some small variations, this is Cincinnati Basketball 2015-2016. Over and over again.

By some miracle if we can get into the Big 12, we need to clean out the athletic department. Both the men's and women's basketball team coaches need to go. The football coach needs to go too. The baseball coach is 1-2 more years to prove himself or he needs to go too.

Duke gave up 95 today in regulation to ND in a loss at home.

I wonder if Coach K is going to blow the whole thing up and start playing possession basketball.

Ohio State and Dayton to the immediate north. Kentucky and Louisville to the immediate south. Indiana, Purdue and Notre Dame to the west. West Virginia to the east. And Xavier in our own backyard. Every single program within arm's reach of Cincinnati is playing a better, more exciting style of basketball than are the Bearcats. That is unacceptable.

Outstanding as usual Doogle. We are certainly the outlier and the wannabe of this region now. There was a time, not too long ago, when we sat at or very near the top of this group of schools, but under Cronin, they have all passed us by. That program got us in a great power conference, and Cronin has given us mid-major basketball all over again.

Oh...ok! Thank you for the clarification. I'm glad to hear that my agenda is in alignment with most core Bearcat fans. Mike Bohn is paid to find those alternatives, and I'm sure he is putting together a list as we speak. When that list is released, I'll be sure to make you one of the first to know which ones I would target. Otherwise, I'll be at the game Thursday night. Will you?
I won't since I live in CT...but I will be there next Thursday. Glad to know you'll be cheering with your fingers secretly crossed

Are you predicting a loss? After all, doesn't my cheering imply that Memphis will be beating us? I mean, someone with my agenda certainly wouldn't be cheering for a victory would they?

What you guys keep forgetting is mick wants to run this style of offense slow it down grind it out, that is micks coaching. Everyone on here can get use to it and keep cheering the bearcats on or you can go root for some other team cuz micks not going to change and he's definitely NOT going to get fired!!!!!!!!

I don't think anyone is forgetting it, we're taking issue with it. The problem is that you're most likely right. Mick won't go anywhere and we'll be stuck in this rut of mediocrity forever.

Hence the finger crossed reference. There are plenty of other college programs to follow, feel free

On a side note I find it hilarious that you're hell bent on getting rid of Cronin, maybe wins a game in the tournament maybe not, but with teams that nobody expects anything from yet you can't get enough Huggins in your mouth who did the same thing but with #1 and #2 seeds

I love when people say this. If you want better than middle of the pack in the AAC, go root for a school you have no affiliation with, in an area where you've never lived or been to before!

Maybe so, that's why I don't spend all my days worrying about it anymore I'll just keep cheering the Bearcats on and hopefully we win enough to get to the tournament and make a run if not we will try again next year

I'm not going to sit back silently and watch this crap system year after year. All we can do is voice our opinions that this garbage brand of basketball isn't good enough for this university.

Immensely enjoying Huggs and WVU right now as a matter of fact. Real basketball is a joy to watch.

The die-hards are dying. Sad.

What would your thoughts of keeping Mick as the head coach, but bringing in a young offensive minded assistant coach? He would simply help at practice to develop our players offensive ability, but still let Mick teach them the tough defensive side of the game.
