I saw that before it was deleted. The part where the OP stated that Cronin was the 3rd best college coach in SW Ohio is what probably got that thread deleted.There's some truth there.
Here is a quote from Cronins reply , " I too am not happy about my record against X, but that is only one game a year and our programs as a whole are very similar"........ I've got a problem with that. No wonder we can't beat X. "Similar" ? I want to dominate them ! Imagine if Urban Meyer said.....Michigan is only one game.

I think Cronin would discontinue the Shootout if he had the choice, which I think is a chicken shit way of just not wanting to lose the game anymore. He can spin it any way he wants, but it's the truth

Perhaps if he could deliver a product worthy of it he'd be a king in this town. This city is so thirsty for a winner that wears the name Cincinnati on it's chest.

You wouldn't have a bunch of people calling for the guy's head if he were delivering results commiserate with our history or his mind boggling salary.

I get that there's like 2 or 3 guys on this message board that might still complain but do you really think our fan base as a whole would be upset with Mick if year in and year out we were a nationally ranked basketball team that competed for high seeds in the tourney?

Your unbelievable blind loyalty for a guy who has done nothing to earn it is a little disturbing. I get that there's some on here that hate Mick no matter what but if they're Fox News than you're MSNBC. Blindly supporting a guy who's results haven't earned it is just as bad as hating the guy regardless of what he does.

Though this isn't beyond a shadow of a doubt. I've stayed in the same hotel as him in NCAA tourneys, and he can get pretttty screwed up...it is POSSIBLE he might have wandered into a forum..

Im a long time UC fan (60's era) but this domination by Eggsavior is getting hard to take ! The offense of Cronins teams are painful to watch and it's always the players fault, never the coaching or recruiting.

Um. Okay. I just got done reviewing Tulsa film and I log onto Twitter and see a link to this and I couldn't help but respond. I appear to be beyond criticism? You should take a look at my email and Twitter mentions EVERYTIME I lose a game. You'd think my team is one of the worst in the country based on the backlash I receive on social media, email and even in person. We've made five straight NCAA Tournaments and have the program on good footing and when we get our new arena that will help me even more bringing in TOP talent. Chris Mack and Archie Miller are tremendous coaches and I will not be responding to that comment for obvious reasons. I appreciate your following of our program and I too am not happy about my record against Xavier but that is only one game a year and our programs as a whole are very similar. Xavier is having a great year this year. Am I the best coach in the country? No I am not but I'm working at it every day, every game and every year. I've done my best to get the best players at UC that I can get with a very limited budget. Right now my team won't defend and we aren't tough enough to win big games and that is MY fault. We've had two hard, long and tough days of practice since the Temple game and I'm hoping that translates to the court today at 4:00. I hope too see everyone at Fifth Third. I will not rest until our third National Championship banner is hanging in the rafters. Go Bearcats!

Huggs produced nba lottery picks. Mick turned a sure fire lottery pick into non guaranteed contract. 1 end of bench nba player in 10yrs is unacceptable

Thats fine, and for the players i can see how that might be concern. But as a fan i see success in march as a pretty important factor in coaching "success". Everyone keeps mentioning X's success in march as a strike against Mick but look at how many NBA players they have produced in that time. It's gotta go both ways

That's correct. Zero conference tournament championships, and flame outs in the 1st or 2nd game of the tournament every year means virtually no March success.

X has had 3 NBA players in that time frame, Jordan Crawford, Lionel Chalmers and Derrick Brown, plus 4 sweet 16s and an Elite 8. This year will probably be at least an Elite 8 or Final 4, plus more NBA players off this roster as well. There's no comparison.
