Sean Kilpatrick, Cincinnati- Mick Cronin has many key components from last year’s surprise team back in the fold – namely Yancy Gates, Dion Dixon and Cashmere Wright – but he should be most excited about the return of Sean Kilpatrick. Straight out of Notre Dame Prep, Kilpatrick emerged as one of the premiere outside shooting weapons in the Big East during his debut campaign, a time when most freshmen struggle badly to find the bottom of the net. Kilpatrick earned all-Big East rookie honors and finished with a robust 38% mark from deep. Kilpatrick also ranked third on the team in scoring, fourth in assists and ended his year behind only Dion Dixon in offensive rating. Kilpatrick is a viable candidate to make a major jump in his second year under Cronin.

SK needed to improve upon a few things
- Defense.
- Consistency
- Left hand

If he added or improved, which im sure he has, he is set for a break out season. Will he come off the bench or start?

I will be surprised if the perimeter starters aren't Cash, Dixon and Killa. I think Parker will spell both the 2-3 with Sanders getting minutes at the 3 as well. Last I heard Sanders was shooting lights out in practice. Wouldn't surprise me to see Davis play some 2 as well.

Practice is closed so info is hard to come by. The low post will be strong with the addition of Moog. This team will be deep and strong. The youngsters are said to have very good basktball iqs. Guyn will be a very good defensive player but Davis may have an edge with his offensive game.

This team reminds me somewhat of the 92 Cats. Not saying they're a final four team but I believe they will be very good.

They have depth and are well balanced. If they can play defense I believe this could be a wonderful season to watch.

SK's defense scares the hell outta me (the team D is a ? too), that + 8 straight versus NCAA tourny teams to start the Big East has me concerned. Hope things are figured out by then, or 2-6 is within the realm of possibility.

With as deep as this team is on the perimeter, I think that constant pressure will be the way to go. Press these teams out of the gym. Mick can keep running guys in off the bench.

Am I mistaken or are they not allowed to practice yet? Doesn't that begin this Friday? I realize they still work out and play together in a pick-up fashion.

I think the practices referred to above referred to open gyms and I think coaches are allowed 2 hours per week with the team once school starts. Not positive about that.

I did think that practices was supposed to start on Friday, but then I saw this tweet from Assistant Coach Darrin Savino:

"One practice in the books and approximately 85 more to go!!!"
