St. John's has beaten us the last two years at home. I'm just glad this isn't a noon tip because the last two were. I hope we come out focused. If we do we should be fine. I also hope the students ride Obepka pretty hard ala Behanon last year. St. Johns this year is much like last year, lots of young talent. If you let them beat you they will, but if you play disciplined they won't match you.

no need to ride obepka like chane. he never gave a verbal, isn't from cincy, and didn't leave us for a rival. he made a choice he thought was best. if he likes losing to the san frans of the world instead of playing on a top 15 team so be it.

i'm actually looking forward to seeing him and how our bigs control him on the d.

Different situation than Chane, yes, but I'd still love to hear us give him grief. Anything to get in his head. He drug out his recruitment forever and left us hanging. He had every right to do it to make the best decision for him, but that doesn't mean we can't show him that we think he made the wrong choice.

true and i'm sure he'll get heckle for it. but i feel the team will make sure he knows he made the wrong choice when uc holds st john's under 50 and send him home 0-2 to start confrence play.

that would be saying a lot more then a few boos and heckles. :)

i have 2 extra tickets in section 204, row 21...looking to get close to face value ($14) each if anyone knows anybody that are looking for tickets...if so, you can private message me, facebook me at [email protected], or via twitter @NNparker810...hoping for a crazy crowd...too bad Lawrence did not visit us this weekend...

Go Bearcats!

Holding serve at home in the BE is huge. I'm sure Mick has told the team a loss to St Johns will negate the nice road win at Pitt.

St. Johns is young, small and atheletic. If we win the battle of the boards we will win the game.

always a much better environment when the fans cheer FOR the Cats and not AGAINST the opposition.

I'm curious to see Obekpa play. His stats seem to indicate how we thought of him during the recruitment process, shot blocker & shot changer, limited on the offensive side. I would have been excited if he chose the Cats, but I'm more excited about what next year's recruit Strickland brings to the table. He seems like he'll be a lot more well rounded with some post moves already.

Cincinnati fans get loud when we score and when we can boo something. I don't think the students heckling Obepka a little bit will change that. I would be happy if the fans cheered at all during the game. I'm not trying to argue about it, but our best environment last year was the Louisville game. Good opponent and rivalry had alot to do about it, but riding Behanon from the tip got the crowd going. Any fuel our fans have as a reason to get loud I will take it. When Obepka has his hands on the ball or is at the line I hope the students ride him and the rest of the crowd follows suit.
