I know Wright is not the best player on this years team, but IMO he may be the most important factor the rest of the year. With good point guard play UC is obviously better. I know that UC needs their star players to do their thing, but I believe that in order for this team to make the tournament, Wright could be the key player. Thoughts?

UC has been suffering from lack of PG play/production. I'd say it matters about as most as anything else.

Zero doubt about it. Yancy Gates a close second. I am not sure if it is Wright or the PG position as a whole.

I disagree. Wright is a added Bonus. He has had moments of brilliance and moments of complete and utter disappointment. Whether this team makes the tourney completely lies on UC improving there offense, making shots/free throws. Yes they scored alot of points last game out, against a terrible team. They have had offensive woes all season long.

But wouldn't you think that a huge impact on improving an offense is point gaurd play? Or do you believe that UC's offense is getting looks right now, they just aren't hitting shots.

Agreed, but im not ready to put the season on an unproven rookie. Cash has played one great game and one average game in his UC career. Potential, but young.

With that being said, the future at the PG spot looks bright, with Cash and Paker.

This team is a lot better when Cash is playing well. You have to remember he sat out all of last year and it can be tough to come in and play at your best--I think we are seeing good things from him and if he continues his play we will have a very good chance IMO. If he takes a step back I think we could be looking at NIT. He is huge for us right now.

I agree that Cash is huge for us coming down the home stretch. Several reasons for this include but are not limited to A) Keeping DV as fresh as possible. B) Breaking zone defense's and opening up the perimeter. C) Giving us a legit scoring option at the point. The kid needs to work on his mental toughness at the line however. My prediction....If Cash continues to "get it" we win a min of 5 more games.....if not we win 3/4 max!

Interesting comment on Cash breaking zones. Great test verse Syracuse.
