It's amazing that you could look at that stat, and then design an offense that slows the ball down and runs shot clock. Again, we've won a lot of games in the slow down, but could we have won more had we pushed the pace and scored more? The stats indicate that it's possible.

It's always fun to debate what if but at this point in the season I don't care what style they play as long as they win. The regular season in college basketball is about building a resume to get a shot at the title. Building towards the end of year like UCONN did last year is the way to go. We have 3 games and a conference tourney to hit our peak. IF that's pushing the ball or slowing it down I don't care. As Al Davis said Just win Baby.

at the end of the day it's about hitting shots. Regardless the style of offense, if you make shots you always look better. I personally, from a fans perspective like a faster paced game but in the end nothing beats winning.

I agree as long as they win I don't care but I do believe a faster pace does fit the physical talent they have better and believe it would make the program more appealing to good offensive players.

i am in the middle on that Jeff. We have absolutely dominated teams in the paint this year. Pushing the pace may take away from that which has become Strength. The problem for this team this year has been we have been so inconsistent from the outside. When we hit shots with our inside game we are very good.

We get a lot of paint points when we run, just in a different way than I think you mean. I like pushing it though bc I believe Caupain and Cobb both have a good enough instincts to know when to pull it back out. Like Mick was saying the other day, let's just hurry it across half court. Then if we need to set up and regroup and run a play or pound the post, we can still definitely do that. I like having all options on the table. Walking it up takes away an option. But regardless of the style, the intensity and focus needs to be there to be consistent. That is the most important thing.

It doesn't hurt to knock down a jumper or two as well.

The guards scored only 29 out of 83 points - only attempted 8 3's - that's plenty of points in the paint - I'll take that every day

Just read that UC is now hiting.451% from the field which is second best in the league.

Would like to see this team come out and play like they did against UCF. Blow them out of their gym. They need this going into these last two games of the season, which in my opinion are must win games.

That stat exists because we do play a slow down game.

I can dread the slow games as much as the next guy but in basketball you get the ball the same amount of times as your opponents. If you get 50 possessions your opponent will get that. If you get 100 your opponents will get that. Mick likes defense and knows he can outplay the other team on defense. He also knows he doesn't have the players to outplay many teams on offense. Therefor he's happy limiting possesions. Yes, our offense would be much more efficient if we pushed the ball. Opposite that our defense would be much less efficient. Bottom line is you need to execute on both sides of the ball. I think there is a happy medium there somewhere. We can be more aggressive on offense without completely stepping away from the ability to set up our defense after shots.

Exactly, the reason that stat exists is because to score 70 on 55 possession you have to be extremely efficient. Being extremely efficient on offense with a defense like ours will lead to a lot of wins.
