Could it be the worst in America? I'd argue yes, along with the least intelligent....

Generalized statements with no way to back it up factually is both worthless and pointless. Congratulations on the most worthless post of the day!

The truth hurts. Poor basketball and football attendance coupled with woefully inaccurate statements made by folks on this board and other UC message boards have made this clear to me!

So go root for someone else and stop posting here, AKA what we've all been dying for.

jason while I always suppoort the Cats I do understand where NTS is coming from at times. If I was Mick I would be on the first thing Smokin out of Cincinnati. The stuff he has had to endure to try and build a winner for this university is much more then I would put up with. Everytime I go to a game I here it.

I'm not disagreeing with that but that wasn't his comment. He was comparing to all other fan bases. Unless he has scientifically polled all other fan bases, he doesn't have any legs to stand on. I have always said that the general Cincinnati sports fan is ridiculous and I have lived many places to see it from up close and far away. That said, I have lived in places with fan bases that are just as ridiculous if not more so. Unfortunately there is a reason people are familiar with the term "vocal minority."

You have people on these boards who's basketball playing and coaching experience may be slightly above pick up games. These same people come on here or sit in the stands at the game and complain non stop. About strategy,Coaching,Style,Recruiting, the Huggins firing and anything else that enables them to hear themselves speak. If we do well he should do it differently,if we do bad it's his fault, If the players screw up he should recruit better. Guy can't win. I remember the Cincy .com days the insults that they heaped on him from a hidden keyboard were classless to say the least. Now If they win it has to be a particular style or by a certain margin. I go to the games because I'm a fan of the game and University. The first thing I look for is the quality of the Student Athelete. Then it is effort, results and atmoshere. Other then atmoshere I feel my money is well spent when I go to the Shoe. For me the driving force behind the atmoshere has nothing to do with Coaching or team. My expectations going into this season were to make the dance again and add some talent for next year. That hasn't changed. if Mick delivers that I will consider it a job well done. If he manages to make a nice run in Tourney it is icing on the cake. One and done tourney's are a crap shoot at best. That is why there are so many upsets.

My final thought is if we lose Mick it will set are program back further then when Bob was asked to leave. The current admisnstration is putting its eggs in the football basket because that offers the best ROI at this time.If Mick is able to climb the ladder and contiue to win games he will elevate the program. The fact he is doing as well on a shoe string is amazing and the fans should be pleased to have a native Cincinnatian who won't run off for the next best offer. And believe me he will have offers.

Rant over Sorry is I bored anyone.

i got you.

What is the point of this message board if we are not to discuss our coaching, recruiting, game strategy, etc.? Not everything you hear is going to be sunshine and roses. It's like that with any fan base. I like Mick Cronin, but I think questioning our offense is valid. I realize it's early, but fans are less likely to give him the benefit of the doubt because so many of his past teams have struggled offensively. Combine that with the fact he occasionally makes dismissive comments when asked about the lack of offense and this is what you get.

My post has less to do about Mick Cronin as it does about the poor attendance and generally negative attitude...

Exactly, nice post! Cincinnati fans have always been bandwagon jumpers. If you give them a top level program or team, they'll be back in droves. It will take a continuation of making the tournament annually, combined with some long runs in the tournament, and some highly rated recruiting classes with an occasional MacDonald's All-American mixed in. Once you get to that level, you better sustain it or they'll start to leave. Patience is not a virtue of the typical Cincinnati sports fan.

The point of message boards is to agree and disagree and have discussions about different topics related to the team. You can't discuss or argue against comments that are general with nothing to back them up. I can state an opinion that Mick is the greatest coach of all time (not my actual opinion) but unless I have some facts to prove it, I am just stating an opinion. That's fine. Where I have a problem is when people on this site state an opinion as fact. That is a problem. We can disagree on an opinion and we can discuss the facts but let's not blur opinions and facts. Lastly, this condescending "I know more than you because I played more than pick up basketball" attitude is garbage. We all watch basketball and enjoy it. Unless you were a college coach or NBA coach (and can prove it) I don't want to hear about it.
