UC Hands Down Punishments

THought it was a little steep based on Xavier.

Ellis threw punches and missed - 6 games.
Lyons threw punches and missed - 2 games.

Nothing like Xavier refusing to do the right thing for fear of losing a game or two.

Missed punches=6 games
Two connected punches (one when someone wasn't even looking), one missed punch, one ball thrown at a head=6 games.

2001 we won by 20..
2002-2003, 2003-20004 games, Xavier escaped by a combined total of 3 baskets. They weren't better.
2004 we won by 11.
2005, again Xavier escaped by 2, in overtime.
2006, they were better and we still beat them.(with a team that had Conner Barwin on it)
2007, they won by 5.
2008, they won by 10.
2009, we gave it to them with that fight.
2010, we whooped them.
2011, we couldn't throw it in the ocean.

Not really that lopsided.

Only embarrassing shootout I recall, aside from the last one, was when Danny Fortson put down 40 on them at the Garden.

Again, we are not agreeing on what defines a program. This one game certainly does not, because anything can happen in the game.

...The whole country is saying it- not just X fans. He was a complete coward- he beat him once on the court in 4 tries and was mad about it. Saw his opportunity to take out his frustrations (When kenny wasn't looking) and it cost him just 6 games. He threw a basketball at a players head, connected on two punches (one blindsided) and missed on a third. Six games. Sounds about right

It actually does, but knowing the facts is sometimes just too difficult for some. Babcock and Mick consulted with other coaches, AD's, and the BE and the 6 games was actually harsher than what was recommended. I know though, Mick and UC were supposed to ignore those professional opinions and kick Gates off the team just to appease twitter nation.

What are you talking about? He kicked his ass on the court last time out too.
He put 18 points and 12 boards on them. Look at Kenny's stat sheet next to it. Maybe if Frease wasn't a slightly less evolved form of Kurt Huelsman, he could score more than 9 points...
As for it being cowardly, hacking a man and screaming in his face, SHOULD get you punched. He behaved like a bitch, got buckled like one too. Why don't we talk about the headbutt? Why don't we talk about him going at Guyn? He had his hands out, running toward an opposing bench. Not Yancy's fault he's a tard baby.

I do. I would love to watch your face hit the floor and see you crawl away on all fours like the x pus$y you are.

You're way too mad. Still must be pissed your team got blown outa the water.

Would you use the same strategy as Gates, and try and go for the blindside punch?

Take the red glasses off, brother.

you know i'm starting to wonder why you weren't around last year after UC kicked X's ass, even taking the starters out in a classy move at the end of the game. Why don't you just go get a life somewhere where people want you around? Must be a really boring life to come troll a board of your teams inter city rival.

I will look at the most important stat. Wins. Kenny 3. Gates 1.

But, Gates did a good job blindsiding him, and you are doing a good job bragging about that. (I am not surprised to see you brag about a blindsided punch...speaks volumes about your character.)

Oh, so it's season's you want to compare? Xavier never had to rebound from a year with only one scholarship athlete returning, due to self imposed sanctions. I don't think that's a valid comparison, unless you cut away the past 5 or so years.
They also play in the A-10, which makes winning and recruiting much easier.

Not when I get responses like this..

Come one man- inter city rival?

If you don't wanna get your $hit pushed in, dont put your $hit in that situation. I'm sure Kennath (LL good name) has learned a life lesson. He should thank Yancy

.... I thought UC was in the Big East so they could get better players and win championships. All this time the key is to be in the A-10?

I think we could actually have a good discussion on this. You could argue that because of winning, you will get recruits easier. But you could also argue that there are difficulties in recruiting players to come to the A10 vs Big East.

character? A word kennath knows not..
- blindsides yancy with a headbutt
- cusses out 65 yr old women

Gates: Throws ball at Tu's head while Tu wasn't looking, looks for next unexpected victim and lands a knock out punch. Mans game.

Kenny does it on the court. Beating Gates 3 out of 4 times. Gates got pissed- and the first time Kenny turned his back he punched him as hard as he could.

No. Sorry, that's just stupid. Kenny by himself didn't beat us.
If it had been Frease vs UC, it would have been 53-9.
I'm sorry Yancy has been out performing Frease the past few times out, but that's just how it is. One of those kids is a potential league player, the other will be in Mexico or Poland with Donald Little and Stanley Burrell.

Just saying...

You obviously didn't listen to the UC press conference. It was said that those who punched and missed deserved the same punishment as Yancy, who punched and landed. The intent of the actions were viewed to be the same and thus, the suspensions should be as well.
