I think there are many reasons the Cats have taken off. Spreading the offense as well as team attitude are both huge reasons. The 4 guard offense causes match up problems for the other team we have been able to take advantage of. The big reason as I see it is because of the intensity of the d has picked up. MC's background as a coach using Huggins and Pitino as his mentors illustrates that playing hardnosed pressure d is a must

I loved that as well and to boot he used his left hand which I have never seen him do.

The one thing that still annoys me is that they seem to take offensive possessions off every once in a while and get stagnant, no movement, passing or anything and then just throw it up as the shot clock expires.
When they are moving without the ball, driving, passing in and out, that is when they get the easy dump off for a layup or a wide open look at a three, that is when they are at their best.

Things are looking up, let's just hope they stay that way.

First of all, I had a great time at the game last night and I loved the way the team played all the way around.

I'm going to nitpick with you as well though re: the bolded.
I have thought for a couple years now that we seem to have more of a conditioning problem rather than a "lazy" problem. Watch when Gates and Jackson first come in the game. They are challenging shots, fighting for position, and boxing out. 3 minutes later, they're standing. That seems extreme to me. Even some of the guards seem to play slow (especially off the ball) once they've been on the court a while. The same loose balls we get early in games tend to go to the other team at the end of halfs. That is my observation at least.

What to do about it? I'm not sure. Clearly Cronin does rotate his players and is working guys like Mbodj, Sanders, etc in the rotation. I wonder if some of these guys just get gassed quickly compared to other teams.

Ok, no more whining. 7 in a row and 2-0 in the BE. The crowd seemed back finally. Keep it up Cronin and players.

I totally agree with you, just making the point that its the one thing that frustrates me at this point. Not trying to be nit picky at all, and don't think you were, no worries man.

I too thouroughly enjoyed the game last night and hope to Saturday as well. I'm extremely pleased with the direction of the team right now. I didn't mean for my previous post to come of as if I weren't.

Great W last night and great crowd. Even better was the enthusiasm (and fullness) of the student section. Hopefully the students continue to come down and give the Shoe a home atmosphere.
