He won't bet on them. I have tried that. Besides, if he stays off (including all of his other ids) the boards will be half empty. That is why the mods love him. Makes this board look more populated than it actually is. And Cronin is not a great coach. He is very mediocre. Knight was a great coach. Huggins is a great coach. Wooden was a great coach. To put Cronin in there is an utter joke and shows how full of bs you are Ralph.

So what are BearcatMick's alter egos?

Amberly, not trying to be argumentative but listing Huggins with Knight and Wooden is laughable. A more realistic statement would be Huggins was a very good Coach and Mick is trying to get to that level. Huggins isn't as good as the greats and Cronin is better than mediocre.

Huggins had a completely different coaching style than the others. He was an "in your face" coach, but sometimes that's needed depending on where you got your recruits. He had a lot of street players. He would have won it all had KMart not broken his leg. I think he did wonders with who he was coaching. He's struggling at WVa, though.

Sorry Waite, but anyone who wins over 700 games is a great coach. And sit back and watch Cronin's interpetation of an offense and tell me again he is better than mediocre.

Hard to argue with you. 19th on the all-time Division I wins list with 2 Elite Eights and 2 Final Fours is pretty good; the one knock would be no championships. It's hard to believe he is only 59. If he didn't look like he was about to keel over, he could end up pushing 900.

To mention Bob, who I liked as a coach with Wooden and Knight isn't even close. Also considering how he left our program and the job Mick has done rebuilding it makes him more than mediorce. How is Bob doing this year with his recruits? Mick most be dong something right his teams get better every year. Scoring is down in college basketball accross the board. Are there better coaches out there right now than Mick, Sure but considering our budget situation and the circumstances he was left to deal with he is doing a great job. This program is on the rise and everyone with knowledge of the game understands this. if he was to make himself available for other jobs he would be scooped up in a minute. Him and Creen have rebuilt programs that were almost left for dead. Look at Depaul UCLA and others who have been trying to reclaim glory and haven't come close. Mediorce LMAO!!!!

You can't say that Mick is a mediocre coach because of his offense while saying Huggins is a great coach. Huggins offense is very similar to Mick's in terms of efficiency and I'd say that Mick has him on the defensive side. Huggins was a very good coach but a ton of those 700 wins came against mediocre to poor teams. He wouldn't be close to that number if the majority of his time was in the ACC, B10, Big East. And that's being proven right now.
