UC vs Providence game thread

Awful game. Don't let the four point loss fool you. The cats were listless tonight and deserved to lose by at least ten pts.

His shot selection is suspect. He was 3-4 from 2-pt range but 1-8 from 3-pt range. At some point you just say, I don't have it tonight. He had made a 2-pt jumpshot disqualified because a foul on Mbodj and then stopped looking for short range shots - took low-percentage 3s.

On the final UC possession he was dribbling toward the Providence basket (keep in mind there were 4 seconds on the clock) and lost the ball.

Props to Thomas for showing up the last few minutes of the game - just couldn't hit the one that we needed.

This game was embarrasing. I have never seen such a poor effort by this team. Cash, SK, and especially Titus were awful, I dont know what happened to Titus but he has been less than worthless the last three games.
 
Well we sucked tonight.

Play defense 40 minutes. Play offense 2 or 3 minutes and hope we can pull it out. Same story different game.
 
Parker, Ft's 3-9. SK can't dribble, flares his arms when someone touches him. Once again, another close loss, plenty of changes to win a close one, another epic disappointment. This team will never get over that hump. It is what it is but you can kiss a 4 seed goodbye. Look around, this is when the top tier teams separate themselves. We won't be with that group.

I'll agree about the shot selection but the last possession have nothing to do with it he was coming off the screen and got jumped. Poor play losing the ball there but doesn't make you an idiot.

Overall dreadful performance. Hopefully they can bounce back. Tough to remember we are 18-5.
 
SK really needs to retire the throw your head and shoulders back acting like you're getting fouled routine. It never works and it caused him to turn the ball over.
 
There goes any chance of UC getting their first 4 big east game winning streak. MAybe we will get there when all the teams leave the conference.
 
What the heck was that last play call? A guy who can get to the rim gives it up to run the BS offense that UC has. 60 dribbles and then a bad shot. No assists, what ever happened to passing the ball. Why is it UC continually passes up 8-10 ft shots in the lane? 50 points isn't going to get it done.
 
I would like to give props for Mick and some of the other players such as Parker for faking me out in the pre game interviews they did yesterday. They said they were focused and paying attention to small details that will win them games. What a joke. Parker 3-9 free throws can go eff himself. Mick's teams constantly play to their competition. The 3 "leaders" on this team let everyone down tonight.
 
You can't blame SK for this one. He has been carrying the team offensively since Cash got hurt. He has an off game and the team falls apart. How about the rest of the team steps up?

Kiss a 4 seed goodbye?

They already have 4 top 50 wins and 6 more chances to add to that. These type of losses suck, but they happen every year to even the best of teams. Need to get Cash back on track for these next three home games.
 
you know, the more i think about what this loss can do,the more i get pissed. those 3 miss bunnies could cost us a seed, more then likely a seed in the conference tourney, out of the rankings.

now i have to listen to larry davis because mick is to busy screaming at everyone.

Who does though? Other teams that are right in that mix aren't setting the world on fire either... Butler, Minnesota. Creighton, New Mexico...

A bad loss doesn't ruin the season.
 
Unreal, that Pitt game is a toss up and we lose that then we are in trouble. We play like shit at home this year too so this should be a fun 3 games.

the last few min was just mistake after mistake...and it's by upper classmen not the youngsters.
