Gonna be a tough one if we don't have Cash. Only a guess...but I'd think he's not playing since we don't play for 9 days after this one. Getting the W yesterday also takes some pressure off.

Anyway, 'Cuse:
-Just beat #1 Louisville
-Is 4th in the nation in rebounding
-17th in points per game
-plays that damn 2-3 zone
-did lose to Temple in a game where Temple shot 33.3% from 3, 39% from the floor and turned the ball over 14 times (although that was almost a month ago)

With or without Cash, I think we need to be hot from 3 to be in this game. We also need to find a way to get in the paint against that zone. If I had to guess, I would say we lose but hey...if we make FTs, don't turn the ball over much, and play our D/rebound like we are capable of, we will be in it. It also helps that Cuse is coming off an emotional win on the road.

atleast they wont have sutherland because he will still be suspended, although they are one of the deepest teams in the country, That little jumper from the foul line parker was hitting last year could be crucial again this year.

The only way we win is if we're hot from the 3 like that one year we beat them.

Probably see alot of Sanders in this game. 'Cuse will barely let S K touch the ball I suspect.

They play a match up zone, not denial defense. SK will get touches, as they won't have someone shadowing him like MU did in the second half. He won't get good looks though due to SU's length, and they will close out on him quickly whenever he touches the ball. You have to be able to penetrate the zone and then kick out for open looks, so Rubles will be very important. My guess is that they will flash him to the middle, TRY and get him the ball, and let him try and create something.

That one year we beat them was just last year in the BE tourney, when they were ranked #2, BTW.

LMAO.

They got lucky last year because we were hot from outside.

Disagree about S K. Other guys need to step up. Be a nice game for Parker to show back up.

When the game plan is for one guy to do it all, it usually backfires. S K was able to take Marquette by storm because he had been in a funk and they weren't expecting him.

Who are 'they' and 'we' that you are referring to in your brillant analysis of last years game? Sounds like you mean UC for both. UC was the only team to beat SU last year when they were at full strenght. But any UC win is 'lucky' in your unbiased opinion.

I'm not sure what you are disagreeing with about SK. SK will be able to touch the ball anytime he wants against their zone. He can initiate the offense at the top of the key if he wants. But whenever he is in shooting range there will be a guy on him. Others have to step up if they have any chance to pull off an upset.

If Marquette wasn't expecting SK to be the focus of the offense once they learned that Cash was out, then either they didn't scout UC or Buzz isn't the great coach that you think he is. Who did they think was going to score against them, Rubles or Moodj. SK is one of the 25 finalists for the Wooden award, so he didn't take anyone 'by storm.'

Really? They weren't expecting him? Do you really think Buzz Williams is an idiot? Marquette knew that if they stopped SK they would have a good chance to win. They couldn't do it even with denial defense in the second half.

Last year, we hit a lot of 3's against Syracuse both times we played. Yancy had a big game both times as well. This year, Triche and Williams are a concern but as a team, against Detroit and Providence, they looked pretty mortal to me. Triche played out of his mind against Louisville, hoping he'll come back to his average game. Should be competitive regardless.

S K has been shooting terribly. But keep your head in the sand as usual.

Sure, they doubled him once they saw he was hot.

And thanks for giving Buzz credit, since I've said repeatedly he's better than Cronin. Glad you admitted it.

Think Rubles and either Sanders or Thomas will be big on Monday. Sanders has the ability to hit open 3s and Thomas and Rubles can split the zone.

I think this will be a competitive game and stay close for a long time but I believe UC loses by 8-10. I hope I'm wrong but Syracuse is the one team in the league that seems to have the Bearcats number. UC has beat like 10 of the last 14 ranked teams they've played but have lost 20 in a row on the road to top 5 teams which Syracuse will be.

Honestly, why do you come on here?

Is that you Chatter? You certainly sound equally moronic.

My head may be in the sand, but your head is way up your ass. Go read my post again and see where I give Buzz Williams ANY credit. If he didn't know that SK could beat him, then he is a bigger moron than you, which is impossible.

Yea, it's him....Chatter be Chatter. I like his constant use of LMAO and LOL though. Reminds me of a teenage girl.

That was great. Your post didn't mention anything about him being a great coach. Not sure what the hell he was talking about there.

UC has never won 4 consecutive regular BE games....I don't see that changing now unfortunately. That's a pretty telling stat IMO.

Can we beat Cuse without Cash if it comes to that? Yes we could but Jaquon and SK would both need to have 20+ in my opinion. Rubles would need to have 10+ and the rest of the 20ish points would have to come from the other players. If that doesnt happen unless Sanders or Shaq has a monster game I don't see the Cats winning this one. Going to stay optimistic though until the final buzzer.
