"We didn't come here to just win 2 games" - Mick Cronin

Most importantly he has the team believing they can win. They've beaten more ranked teams than anybody and people really still are kinda dismissive of them. I have the Bearcats beating OSU in my bracket and advancing to Elite 8.

Damn I love this team. Dion made a mistake not too different than the one he made a couple years ago against WVU (which has been alluded to in another thread)...but this time he made up for it immediately with stifling defense and a block that left FSU with little chance to actually win the game. True grit.

Cashmere Wright should have been on the interview panel! Like most players on this team, he provides some leadership when it's needed. He also made a clutch mid-range jumpshot to extend our lead.

Other than poor shooting early on Wright had a decent stat line (5 pts, 5 rebs, 6 assts, 5 stls, 2 to's).

.

The team is definitely not just a bunch of guys but a true team.

"We weren't going to pack it in. We're going to get better from this [brawl]. We're going to have a better team. Come January, we're going to have a better team." - Mick Cronin talking with Andy Katz after the Wright State game (first game after the brawl).

Cash has such quick hands...his defense made and has made a big difference this season...he is going to have his work cut out for him against Craft, but i think he will be up to the challenge...
Go Bearcats!

Mick did not come to UC to go to the sweet 16 and lose, the elite 8 and lose, the Final 4 and lose. Mick came to UC to win the national championship. Nothing will please Mick except 4 more wins.

And you know what Ralph for once we can agree buddy, and the best part about it is, that is what makes Mick the right guy for the job, his eye is on the prize and he makes sure the focus is there from the whole team. He needs to start being in the discussions of national coach of the year.

If the cats get to the final four he will be coach of the year. If the cats can keep it close I think we will take their will like the FSU game... The cats will not flinch because it is just like all big east games... I love this conference.. It has made the bearcats battle tested just like the SEC in football...

I agree. The Big East is the best thong to happen to the bball program, hell, the football program too!

The Big east has prepared this team for the tournament, for the pressure, for being down but not out. Love it.

Being in the Sweet 16 only matters if you win 4 more games.

I get your point and I agree about the end goal...but I have been amazed at the tremendous amount of media articles and coverage we are getting. There was a time during the season when the only storys being written about us (not related to the brawl) were in the Cincy papers. Now you can find one on about every major sport site and then some.

Other than winning...the exposure will matter. Recruiting....future fan attendance at games...profits and expenditures for the program...national awareness and possibly more TV games next year...etc etc.

I am definitely looking forward to more TV coverage. I remember how much "real ESPN" the bearcats used to be on.. I always joke when we are on the duce or whatever else they call the other channels. I also think we will win some of the recruiting battles for the truly elite talent. I almost prefer to redshirt a kid and watch him grow up a la SK and Jaquan.. on a side note.. Can you believe JP got 11 rebounds against FSU???? I am not sure Ohio State is prepared for a kid with this much heart. Win, Lose, or draw I a have a very good felling about this team bringing intensity.. I have also always wanted to see Gates and Sullinger battle it out..
