right now with 4 games left we sit at 500 in confrence play. (7-7).

10th place in conference.

bracketologyexpert.com has uc as a 8th seed and falling.(updated nightly)

lost 4 of 5.

a month ago uc was 8th in the country and was consider a 3 seed.

how in the hell can a ball club fall apart so soon and so fast? the rate that uc has fallen really has me concern, not only now, but the future as well.

with 4 games left, a lot of people think we need just one win. a win against usf won't do it and a loss would kill this teams chances for a at large bid if we lose out.

things aren't good, but it's the feeling that it won't get better is what kills me..

I don't see how it gets better. At least defense will be there but the offense sucks and it killing their season.

Unfortunately they are going to be even worse next year.

To me this coincides with Cash's injury, he's a shell of himself, making silly mistakes and still doesn't have his legs under him on his shots.

I'd like to think it's about his injury but they weren't exactly playing great prior to his injury. I made a statement back in November/December where I didn't think Cash was doing a good job running the point. Basically I said if he made his shots he looked good but if he missed them he looked bad...A good PG should be effective even if he isn't making his shots but that hasn't been the case for the most part of this season. If he still is injured then maybe they should rest him because I don't think he is helping them right now.

It's also concerning that no one from the sophomore class is stepping up. Guyn still doesn't look very good and Sanders doesn't add much. At this point I was hoping someone would step up and provide valuable minutes.

Again, this is an overreaction. These are just some minor kinks via shot selection. Killa and cash don't trust their teammates to make shots at the moment so they are trying to do it on their own

Micks going to hammer that theme at practice

Ever the optimist. I don't know if they were the same announcers on ESPN3, but even they kept commenting how DNy was open and screaming for the ball, but the guards were leary of passing to him. Yeah, watch Mick straighten this mess out by Sunday. Good luck.
I will say that everyone on this thread was screaming for ball movement and penetration - and we got that...........finally. That part looked more like basketball than "toss the medicine ball".

Thanks. My confidence has shot back up.

It's getting late for a turnaround. This team is what it is. And that is a bubble team and maybe even a NIT team.

65 is the magic number for the offense and they can't hit it. Such a frustrating year. When you have 3 upperclassmen at the guards and you end up like this, the season is a complete failure. Bring on Lawrence, Caupin, Mormon, and the rest. Can't get here soon enough.

Unfortunately they are all going to be freshman and other than Lawrence I can't say I expect much out of them.

This last month has been brutal but I'm not giving up on this team yet. Can't just say "theres always next year" when there is still a month of basketball left.

I'm in the same place. This team has been crazy frustrating but I can't help but hang in there.

That's what being a true fan is all about. It's still our team at the end of the day, win or lose, good or bad.

Plus, this is a Mick Cronin team-I certainly hope and expect we have not seen the best from this team yet. Even if we continue to struggle down the stretch, Mick teams have done pretty well in the BE tourney. If we can grab a few quality wins there, we should be okay. I am frustrated and angry at times, but this is still UC basketball and I will always support it.

Mick teams? Each team had/has different personnel. That statement is way too general and non-applicable until/unless this team steps up. I hope they sweep, but it's a one and done format so there's no second chances.

I think he's referring to the last 2 seasons (post rebuilding) that Mick's teams have peaked at the end of the season. It's tough to see it the way they are playing right now, but its possible.

Yes, this is true, but coaches teams tend to take on certain characteristics every year, no matter what the personnel is. I can guarantee you that no Mick Cronin team will score 90 ppg. I can also guarantee that they will never give up 85 ppg. Mick Cronin teams all play good defense, have bad offense, hustle, and don't shoot ft's well. While the stats may fluctuate, tendencies don't usually. Mick teams usually play very well in the BE tourney, look at when we almost beat WVU, the year Dixon dribbled the ball off his foot, the run we had last year, etc. Will they play well in it every year, no. But I would argue that if watched the tendencies, they will probably do well. Also, I am not saying they will win it all (the BE tourney), but rather, I wouldn't be surprised if they won a few games and gained momentum heading into the NCAA tourney.

I still would argue that they will peak at the end if the year, but I don't think the peak is as high as it was last year. I think we will do well in the BE tournament, win a game or two in the NCAA tourney, and then be done.

Two months ago I was so excited to watch the ND matchup on NBC and now I am kind of dreading it. Oh how UC has fallen :-/ one thing is for sure, you can't say we haven't had our chances!
