I was a big MC doubter.

Not as much as Lumberjack mind you. But last year and early this year (three weeks ago??) I had lost confidence in him to control the players and to upgrade the talent.

Now? UC is winning on the road. Playing hard. Buying in.

While UC has work to do, winning cures all ills. Well done Mick.

Who among you had the same thoughts and are now on the bandwagon?

He's got me. Never thought they'd win this game, had it penciled in as a lost when the schedule was announced. He said they would be focused after the UCONN loss and the were, I'm proud of Mick!!!!!!

P.S. I really liked the post game, he clarified the "disrespect" card he has been using and he really defended his guys. I'm happy for him and the team.

I was a HUGE Mick supporter his first 4 years. I started doubting early this season. I've always thought he was a great recruiter and a great X and O guy but struggled getting guys to listen to what he preaches. It seems like he finally has a group of guys that are listening to him and are talented enough to win.

With YancyGate, and a couple of bad losses, I figured MC was DONE. Put a fork in him.
How he got a team without ONE consistently good outside shooter to win 10 BE games is beyond me.
Defense and hustle makes up for a lot, apparently.

I was a BIG Cronin doubter, said before the season that if they had a winning record in the Big East I would admit I was wrong.
I WAS WRONG, congrats to Cronin, because if I were in charge, Cronin would have been gone after last year.
I am happy for Mick, never disliked the guy, just thought he was in over his head and should have been let go; BUT, I was WRONG.

You know what this thread is truly about?

It's not about anyone being wrong- or right. It's about Mick Cronin and this entire program growing individually and collectively. That's what brings a fan base together. That's what ignites a fan bases passion. That's what garners NEW fans.

As they say, heady times in Clifton these days... :D

Time to RTC.

Put on the UC hoodies while its still freezing in the Nati.

4 road wins in a row.

We're 23-7 (10-7). This has been a good season. We're dancing.

Let's stay hungry. We're dangerous.

I have always been a huge Mick Cronin guy. I think everyone knows that. I have always been a benefit of the doubt guy too. I always give the benefit of the doubt until shown it doesn't deserve to be given. All that said, I am glad that people are starting to realize how good of a job Mick has done. In year 1 it was "Does he have enough experience as a HC?" In year 3 it was "His players haven't improved enough." In year 4 it was "His team is collapsing again in Feb/March." This year there were plenty of "Here we go again" moments. I am not saying that these weren't legitimate concerns, but I feel like some fans refused to move on from them.

One of my buddies is like this and it drives me nuts. He would send emails after every UC loss proclaiming the end of the Mick Cronin era and that if Mike Thomas had any stones, Mick would have been fired by now. After every win, he was no where to be found. When I called him out, he would go back to the same excuses about how their OCC schedule was crappy and Mick just did it to save his job. After the Georgetown win his rhetoric was "Will you be happy when we lose in the first or second round of the NCAA Tourney?" As if anyone is expecting a Final Four this year. We are all hoping for the team to play well and win some games in the tournament, but this is a process. I don't know what to expect from the team just like I don't know what to expect from some of the fans. I hope this brings the fan base together but I really think it is just going to push them farther apart. What it will do is start a tradition with a newer and younger fan base that will grow with this program and Mick Cronin. The program will be fine and will succeed under Mick Cronin, just don't expect all of the old fans back and that's ok.

Micks got these guys drinking that Tiger Blood. Were #BI-WINNING!!!!!!

#WINNING

***if you arent on twitter/following charlie sheen, i apologize as that wont make any sense***

I have said this before and I will say it again. I am a fan of the team, not of the coach. I was this way with Yates and Huggins as well. I am thrilled for those young men. This will be the experience of a lifetime. Go Cats!!

I believed in this team since before practice started. I'm going to post a tweet and it says it all for me.

@PaulBiancardi @JonRothstein When Mick Cronin took over UC they were a mid major program at best. Mick/staff have done miracles.! http://bit.ly/BEcoaches

Have to double check my facts but my pre-coffee haed seems to remember Bob Huggins never made it out of the first weekend 8 out of the last 9 seasons he coached UC in the NCAA.

I'm gonna be totally honest with your friend, and this may get me ripped on, but YES! Making the NCAA tournament was the expectation for me, and it's been so long since we've been there that I'm happy if the team meets my expectations. If they exceed them, so much the better.

Again, I remember very few people that even thought this team would win more then 15-18 games. That was the range most people predicted for them. How can you not be happy and celebrate what this team and coach have accomplished? They've made me look good. I'm all happy now....;)

When Cashmere Wright plays like he has the past few games (with the exception of UConn) this team can compete with anyone. Mick Cronin can really evaluate talent, and he offered Cash a scholarship when he had a chance at other point guards (this was mentioned in an article last week). His faith is now being rewarded. Plus Cash is just a sophmore, and we will have him for 2 more years. Things are looking up in Clifton, and we have a coach whose eyes aren't going to be on a higher profile job. If this was someone else, how soon would we be hearing that he is a candidate for a higher paying job in the ACC, etc.? One of the reasons why I have always maintained that we need to support Cronin and hope that he succeeds is that we won't have to worry about the coaching carousel in the future.

Wonderful to hear not see the UC win last night. The road win and previous road wins have been great. I would like to see us dominate at home. Playing at
nuetral sites in the upcoming tourneys could be good. The team might get nervous for some reason playing at home. The next few weeks could be a blast. Consistent intensity is a must. Go Cats!

Agree. This year was about making it in....like last year was. Mick looks to be 1-1 since this team is almost 100% in now (just never know until your name is called).

Now that they have made it, the expectations will raise in the future in regards to Big East standings/championships and NCAA tournament seeds and performance. Of course, you have to be realistic.
