For those who think a win is a win. Our metrics were once at like #15 on bartorvik site around the Tulane game. We are now at #32. Even after ECU they weren't bad we only dropped 4 spots to #19. We dropped 7 after BEATING USF.
We were ranked #28 going into the first WSU game and we have won every game but Houston (7 total games) and we are now ranked 4 spots lower. Houston only dropped us 1 spot. We have lost more metric points in some of our wins than our losses.
The wins are going to help us in quadrants. But they aren't helping us in metrics..they have actually been hurting us.
We have 3 wins that cost us more than Houston loss. We have 2 wins that cost us more than ECU loss. Of course there could have been some other shuffling of teams around us...but the point remains these close wins can both help and hurt our cause when looking at quadrants and metrics.
By close games I mean actual close games or games close to the predicted spread.
