Someone on twitter stated that there were complications with Fleck leaving WMU and basically said he was going to stay a few days ago and that looks like it is true. There were no details as to what the complications were. He also did not interview with Oregon and went to WMU banquet and recruited instead.

How far away is FAU from The Villages? And we thought he came to UC to retire...

Just saw that Taggart is getting less than Brohm. Not sure how many years but I definitely thought Oregon would pay more than Purdue.

Purdue overpayed to get their guy. They made it pretty clear that they're tired of losing and were going to invest in fixing their program. Apparently they feel like they got their guy in Brohm, time will tell.

I do t think we can use his contract as an example of what the going rate will be for this market. I'll be interested to see the financials on Houston and USF's hires when they're made. I think we need to be using that as a template for what our next HC is going to cost.

I believe Taggart got $1.8M while at USF. Tuberville got $2.2M. Just read that USF is already negotiating with Strong. Will be interesting.

With whoever we end up hiring, I hope our fan base can forget about this year and come out next year in full force. Having my masters in marketing I would love to know what our marketers are going to do to draw people to all the games. It's obviously hard to get people excited to play a home game against teams like Tulane, Tulsa and some of the other teams in the AAC. UC needs to do something about the students leaving early from the games as well. If it's a blowout it's bound to happen, but even against Houston this year the student section seemed to clear out after half time. I remember the catskeller used to have dollar beers at half time, giving fans the opportunity to drink up on some cheap beer and get their buzz back for the second half. I don't know if they even do this anymore, but it certainly made students stay longer. I also remember when Kelly was hear he would have commercials and promotions telling people to "come early, be loud, wear red". A lot of the marketing comes from the coach telling the fans to come out, and with TT all his messages just seemed sarcastic and not important. Hopefully the next coach can get fans excited about Bearcat football again.

Lol so Houston hires OC Major Applewhite...but DC Todd Orlando was named interim HC for the bowl. Awwwwkward...

@ESPNRittenberg
FAU's hiring of Kiffin leaves only two vacancies left: Temple and Western Kentucky. This was projected to be very quiet coaching cycle.

Nothing left for Tuberville.

PJ Fleck to Minnesota. Lots of $$, but good luck. He got his P5 job, but maybe the worst one out there.
