If Jarron made that shot tho...
McNeal has scored 2 points in his last 66 minutes of play.
Wanna hear an interesting stat?
This is now the 5th game where we’ve allowed 40 plus points in the second half.
We’ve lost 4 of them and we lead at half time in 4 of them.
We are bad.
Zero 2nd half adjustments on D
I know I'm going to get hate for saying this. But there's a common theme. Vogt once again got abused on the defensive end in the second half.
It's increasingly obvious that Brannen's offensive system is not working for this team. Last year Jarron and Scott both had more assists than TO's (127/96 and 52/39) respectively. This year they have more TO's than assists. Neither of them is effective or comfortable in this offense. Last year they were two of our three best players.
Looking at this team, I see only one guy who looks like he could start for almost any team in the AAC and that is Keith Williams. Last year, Jarron and Scott looked like they could start for almost any AAC teams, this year they look out of sync.
I don't understand why Brannen continues to give McNeal significant minutes. McNeal brings nothing. Let one of the other freshmen gain some minutes and experience.
Vogt continues to be what he is, excellent on offense and terrible on defense. He did a nice job rebounding tonight as well.
I'm expecting this to be the start of a three game losing streak. This wasn't a game where Colgate shot lights out and beat a superior team. This looked like a game between two evenly matched teams and Colgate got lucky in the end.

All jokes aside. We look better when Jarron and Tre aren’t on the floor. Maybe that’s because Jarron hasn’t practiced at all or maybe the system doesn’t fit them. Tre was never that skilled, so if you put him in a system where he needs to be, he’s going to struggle. He’s working hard though. Jarron will probably get better when healthy and can practice. This is why it’s hard to win with someone else’s players. Especially if the player are designed for a cronin system. Where many of the players aren’t that skilled.
Yep. Ivanauskas scored all 21 of his points in the 2nd half.
I think Tre could do well as a small ball 5 in this system. But as a 4 he is basically asked to play as a guard. That's not in his ability set.
I thought he struggled tonight but he was also one of the only ones that could score. Like I’ve said with him, it’s give and take. To be fair, he had a hand in the guys face 4-5 times and the guy made the shot. Not sure what else he can do. Not saying he was good by any stretch but sometimes the other guy is on.

Someone tell me this is going to get better. I guess it can’t get worse
I’ve never seen Diarra shut anyone down. Ever. I never seen him do anything. I know we have were round and round on this but I have zero proof he even knows what he’s supposed to be doing out there. He looks lost. What proof is there that he would shut that kid down or do anything positive? There’s hope, but that’s it. I’m pretty sure the coaches have seen him play more than we have and know what he’s capable of.Ivanauskas hit a couple of tough ones. But it's partially the fact that Vogt gives guys space to shoot and can't jump. He's got his hands up, but is still giving the guy plenty of room to get the shot off. He can't do much more, because he need to prevent the drive as well and doesn't the have movement speed to do both. It would be nice if we would play a defensive scheme that didn't require Vogt to guard the perimeter.
Their center went off for 21, our best defensive center didn't enter the game. Vogt did very well on offense, but maybe you sub Diarra in for a few minutes to shut Ivanauskas down and see if that gets him out of rhythm once Vogt comes back in.
Can some one explain how this is going to get better next season ?
It’s been a while since UC lost a buy game. Maybe Presbyterian ?
Not much is in his ability to be honest... He cant score. He cant dribble. He still out there switching everything eventho that's not the defense. I guess he rebounds.
