Wow, I can only dream that would be our class. Anything close to that would be awesome.

And that class is a real possibility if Mick can lead this team to the NCAA tourney and have a strong showing next season. Mick will always be able to recruit but a winning team always helps the process.

I believe 100% that an NCAA bid this year and success next year will land us a very, very good recruiting class and possibly the best recruiting class in UC history.

Not to get too far off topic, and this could be a new whole thread, but would you think that getting all these one and done players would hurt UK? In a sense that Jeremiah might not go to UK because he knows he will constantly be being recruited over. I imagine that he would be, considered Cal said he was a fourth or fifth option.

Cal didn't tell him he was a "fourth or fifth option." That was my interpretation for anyone that is too naive and braindead to pick up what Calipari is throwing down.

Calipari told Jeremiah that, "he was focusing on the 2010 class and not thinking about the 2011 class until everything was wrapped up with 2010." That is not a direct quote, but very close to what Davis reported.

UK has not even offered Davis. UK has offered other 2011 recruits. Calipari is keeping Davis' interest as a backup option. It is clear as day. Writing is on the wall.

Why would Davis make UK a priority when UK makes Davis a backup option?

I know he didn't directly say that, but I agree why chose a school when they fully admit they wanted someone else. Unless he would be comfortable in a back up situation, because I do think that Cal would try and recruit over him if he had the chance.

Good coversation guys. It will be interesting.

Makes the next 2 months that much more important.

Just my 2 cents, but this has all the makings of a Bledsoe like scenario. We have a kid right here in the city, Aaron Thomas, that would jump at the chance to be a Bearcat. Davis is a very good player, but based on what little I've seen, he is not that much better than Thomas. I would pursue Thomas because Davis is going to jump to KY if Calipari calls and you can't be held hostage to a what if.

Muncie's Davis playing better -- and drawing more interest

Muncie Central’s Jeremiah Davis, one of the state’s top prospects in a loaded junior class, has some new college options on his radar.

UNLV has offered a scholarship to the 6-3 Davis, who is ranked as the No. 40 player nationally in the 2011 class, and Arizona has shown recent interest, he said. Davis also claims offers from Ball State, Cincinnati, Dayton, DePaul, Indiana, Miami (Fla.), Michigan State, Ohio State, Purdue, Tennessee and Xavier.

It’s a long list. Davis said he doesn’t plan on paring it down until he makes a final decision.

I’m still wide open,” he said. “When the stars align I’ll make a decision. But I’m not sure when that will be.”

Like his team, Davis’ season got off to a bit of a rocky start. He was suspended for one game in early December after actions he displayed in a 68-64 loss to Monroe Central on Dec. 1.

But Davis has picked it up recently and his team took a six-game winning streak into a Feb. 25 game at Ben Davis, a 70-53 loss. Davis scored 18 points in the first half, but was held to just two in the second as the Giants pulled away for their sixth straight win.

Muncie Central (10-10) opens play in Sectional 8 at New Castle on Wednesday against Greenfield-Central (5-15).

“I think my year has gone pretty well,” Davis said. “I’m just trying to go with the flow and listen to the coaches, things like that.”

Davis has played both at the point and shooting guard

State of Indiana has a deep pool of talented prospects in the class of 2011, Jeremiah Davis is one to watch

The season ended for Muncie (IN) Central High School in the Class 4A Marion Regional championship on Saturday night but for junior guard Jeremiah Davis the future is just beginning. Capable of playing both guard spots, the 6-foot-3 Davis will hit the spring and summer circuit with the Indiana Elite program and will certainly be one college coaches will be keeping an eye on. Already armed with plenty of high-major scholarship offers, Davis remains open and is just taking the recruiting game as it comes.

Doug Ferguson caught up with Davis earlier this week to get some of his thoughts on his recruitment as he was watching the Big East Tournament on television. You can sign up for NBE Premium access and SUBSCRIBE (HERE) to read on below for the latest on Davis…

Indiana boards are reporting he will announce Wednesday, ironically one day before Teague. Indiana looks to be the leader (at least from their point of view).

Hopefully we can get clarification as to whether or not he is in fact deciding Wednesday... interesting enough, they are also speculating over there that wherever Davis goes, Teague will follow... but in doing so, didn't seem to be referencing UC at all... what's new.

As I said before the Teague decision this is the most important recruit for Mick because he will likely be at school more than 1 year.

Teague is better but he is 1 and done. Davis is not.

ALthough Indiana is workin him HARD.
