For being in the middle of basketball season, Arnett looked exceptionally sharp. He's quick off the line, runs crisp and precise routes and caught everything in sight. With the athletic ability to play on either side of the ball as well as being a difference maker on special teams, the recruitment of Arnett is sure to hit a fever pitch.
"Notre Dame, Michigan State and USC are my top three," Arnett said. "I'm looking at these three schools because they have great academics and they give me a great shot at getting to my goal of getting to the next level. Things have really picked up now so I'm taking my time with things.
"Alabama and Oklahoma are two more schools I'm going to take a hard look at. I'll be visiting Alabama for a spring practice."
As for the Michigan Showcase, Arnett was almost a no-show.
"I had to come because there were too many people talking junk." Arnett said. "I really don't pay attention to message boards or rankings and stuff like that but when it's brought to my attention, I need to have an answer. I need to show up to make sure that everyone knew who was and why I am the No. 1 prospect in the state of Michigan.
"People were talking too much stuff on facebook and I needed to have an answer for all that."
From the 7on7 competition at scUM last weekend. His first defender is Eilar Hardy (white shirt black shorts) and the 2nd is Delonte Halowell sp? (navy shirt black shorts) a scUM commit, Ken Mullen (red shirt black shorts) is from Bishop Luers in Ft. Wayne, he is the only one who could stay with him.
DeAnthony Arnett recently was in Michigan (The Michigan Showcase) for football camp and came away wowing everyone there. It sounds like DeAnthony was definitely the cream of the crop among WRs. The CATS can definitely use someone with his skill set and in fact must start signing players of his caliber in order to move up the SEC Ladder

This is not a surprise to WR DeAnthony Arnett (Saginaw, Mich./Saginaw), who is arguably the state's top prospect. The quiet talk among the state's prospects that the Spartans are the popular choice over Michigan is getting louder and louder these days.
"It's no secret now," Arnett said. "They are a good school and have been recruiting me very hard. It's a receiver school, and you can't go wrong with them. Every receiver that wanted to be great at State made it to the league, so it's a great school."
Muhsin Muhammad, Plaxico Burress, Derrick Mason, Charles Rogers, Andre Rison, Mark Ingram Sr. and others have laid the groundwork for that tradition.
Arnett added that the Spartans, along with USC and Notre Dame, are currently recruiting him the hardest.
I spoke to someone close to DeAnthony Arnett regarding his recruitment today. First, let me say there are a lot of reporters twisting information regarding his recruitment. There are some reports that are simply NOT true. DeAnthony and his family will likely cut his list of schools down to five or six in the next couple of weeks. He may take another visit to UK during spring break but it is not confirmed right now.
Wide receiver DeAnthony Arnett (Saginaw, Mich./Saginaw) ranks just behind Thomas, but in many years he would be the clear-cut No. 1 prospect. The 5-11, 160-pound Arnett has great speed to go along with excellent hands. He has scholarship offers from approximately two dozen schools including USC, Oklahoma, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oregon, Iowa and Tennessee.
Arnett says he's not frustrated by the lack of an OSU offer (though his comments "read" otherwise)... Says he's interested but has heard that OSU is waiting on an indication from Ja'Juan Story regarding his interest before moving on other propects... Spent time with Doran Grant on his visit & they are looking forward to matching up at a camp in the near future... Arnett will visit Notre Dame this week... No talk of leaders or timeframe...
