I remember i googled Pike highschool vs another school that i dont remember and it showed like the last 6 minutes of the game. It showed Khristian hitting two big threes, if memory serves me right they lost like a 15 point lead in the last quarter. I will go back and try to find it again and will post the link as soon as i find it.

Thanks a lot, looking forward to it...

It has been said, not saying I agree but it was said.

By who? Posters on these boards? Other UC boards? Recruiting analysts? I mean homers will be homers so I guess I expect that but I can bet you no one who has seen both players play have said that Smith is better. Again, not a knock on Smith but Teague is a top 5 player. It's really not even close. Smith may turn into a great player after a couple years but there is a reason he isn't ranked and had no major offers. It's all potential with Smith and my guess is he has a year to work on his game and then we'll see if he is still committed.

Several recruiting analysts who have seen him play have said that he has had games where he was the best player on the floor. Of course, the disclaimer that always went with it was that teams were playing zone to limit Teague's ability to get into the lane and get to the rim. Teague is a better player but Smith has had flashes. That may be what people are remembering. I agree with you though, Teague is a Top 5 talent while Smith is a 4 year player with tons of potential. He could be a good one though.

And I agree as well. But I don't believe Teague will have the effect Wall or even Knight will have.

He would've had that effect in Clifton. Teague is very good and I am sorry he is not going to be a Bearcat.

No, I think Jeff is right. Teague will not have the impact that Wall had and I don't see Teague being a player of the year candidate as a freshman. He will be a good player, but I think Knight will have a bigger impact as a freshman and Wall will have had a bigger impact as well.

So he wouldn't have had the affect of the #1 player in the 2009 class and the best freshman since Durant (Wall) or the the #1 player in the 2010 class (Knight)? Yea, if he isn't going to be that good, who needs him?

Why would you read that into mine or Jason's statement? Nobody said he wouldn't have been a good get. He will be a good player. Would have loved to have him here. I'm just saying his game at this point is easy to scheme against. He doesn't have as complete a game as Wall or Knight. That's all that is being said. Please don't bring that negative, argumentative attitude here, and find an argument where there is none.

Jeff summed it up perfectly. In another class, Teague wouldn't be a top 5 player. He would still be a 5 star guy and a guy I would want on my team but he isn't going to have the same effect as the other guys mentioned. You can throw Derrick Rose in there too. Teague is a good player but won't be a dominating player as a freshman, IMO. If I'm wrong, I'll admit it.

I don't care that Scout doesn't know who he is (no ranking) and Rivals only has him at a 3. He sounds like he could be a very good player and one that I really want to have on this team.

Thomas is very talented. Inconsistency has been his issue. Outside of Harkless, he would be my primary pick at small forward as far as the players we are recruiting.

Strengths:
Thomas is an incredibly talented player with a plethora of tools at his disposal. At six-foot-seven with long arms and explosive athleticism, he has the prototypical physical tools for a five star wing prospect. He also has good skills with the ball in his hands owning a nice stroke from the three-point line, a dependable mid-range pull-up with good lift, and the ability to attack either side with his dribble. Thomas is especially effective in a full court game where he can make plays in transition on both ends of the ball.

Weaknesses:
For all of his tools and potential, Thomas has still been unable to put all the pieces together with much consistency. While he will show flashes of greatness at times, he remains more about potential than production. While he needs to get much stronger physically and show more of a willingness to play through contact on both ends of the floor, his primary concern is simply learning how to use his tools to impact games like he is capable of and not disappearing for long stretches at a time.

Bottom Line:
Thomas has the physical make-up and basketball skills to play this game for a long time but needs to start turning his potential into production. He doesn't have nearly as much impact on the game as he should and must continue to become more assertive and develop his basketball I.Q.

Considering
Seton Hall Pirates, UTEP Miners, Cincinnati Bearcats

Shaq is committing tomorrow, and he is choosing from UC, Seton Hall, and UTEP.

You have to think this is good for us considering Mick's in-home visit is tomorrow with him, and he never visited UTEP.

Lets cross our fingers and hope that he comes here. I like our chances and think its between us and seton hall, considering that he wants to play in a major conference. here he could come in and start right away. This would be a major get cause the kid has untapped potential.
