I could read this either way:

He thinks he wants to go to SJU and is using the visit to confirm, or

He wants to go to UNLV or UC and want to make sure he at least visits SJU.

At least we'll hopefully know something sooner than later. I think he picks SJU's but really hope I'm wrong. UC still doesn't have a scholarship available so I'd be curious to know what they are selling him on.
Hasnt jermaine already unofficially visited st johns 500 times. Maybe he is just living up the hype and seeing who really wants him the most. Seems to me he has already picked a school and maybe its a good sign he still wants to see st johns again. If he was set to go there wouldnt he pull the trigger instead of visiting 501th time. Its not like theres going to be something new to see. Just my input.

I thought it is was a noon game but that still seems like they would be trying to squeeze him in.

Yeah it's an 11 AM game. We've got one of those terrible start times for the Seton Hall game. I remember him saying that's he been on campus a lot, so it's not like they need to show him around. Two days is still plenty of time to give their pitch.

The visit hasn't yet been confirmed by the SJU staff, however.

Monday is MLK day.

Long weekend.

The word on the street is that Lawrence will visit this weekend and then sit down with his family and make a decision next week.

Odds on favorite is St. Johns.

Ive read several times Lawrence say he did not need a typical visit to St. Johns because he has been there so much. Betting man says Red storm are the favorite.

The word on the street being like 10 posts up.

And let's not make it sound like it was someone with inside knowledge saying they expect it to be SJU's. It was a poster on another board who has no inside knowledge.

Probably, but an official visit works different from an unofficial and this time they can wine and dine him to try to seal the deal.

Evan Daniels @EvanDanielsFOX: No visit for Jermaine Lawrence this weekend, but a handful for 2014 prospects will take trips.

Agreed. And to be clear, only reason I'm guessing St. John's is because it is so close. I'm not claiming I have any more knowledge about our odds.

LMAO.

Like it takes a brain surgeon to figure out Lawrence will follow the money to Steve Lavin and play close to home so his parents can come see him.

Mick's recruiting fails again. The beat goes on.

Well than in that case why not state that instead of acting like it's some inside information?

Though I do like how you pretend he'll choose SJU's because Lavin is paying Lawrence and then criticizing Mick for failing. I guess you are suggesting Mick should pay him as well?

Again, SJU making payments...is that based on anything other Lavin recruiting well to Los Angeles and New York (2 cities that should be easy to recruit to)?

mplebanon has shown his true colors over and over. He doesn't know anything and he just looks for every opportunity to criticize Mick and this program.

Understood. I must have read a few posts early where he made some sense...but gradually, I've come to the same conclusion. Another screen name to add to my mental list of thoughtless posters.

I agree, Mick knows what he's doing. That's why we are posters and he is a coach. They always have a knack for playing their best ball around the most important time, Feb. and March. We still have plenty of talent and Mick will find a way to get us past the lack of solid big men.

Not looking into a ton but still think its pretty cool Lawrence commented about him watching UC play last night on his twitter. Regardless, he obviously enjoys UC and our arena was rocking last night. Least we are staying on his mind!

St. Johns has done a good job getting local talent, but I think Cincy has a good shot.

I was a UC fan when you were in diapers. Seriously. Grow up.

Late 70's, early 80's.........I went to games down when it was called the Coliseum. I seriously doubt there are many long time UC fans on here as me. Maybe a few.

Problem is that there are too many homers on here and not enough realists.
