Lawrence took in St. John’s and Rutgers games this winter and plans on checking out the Scarlet Knights’ campus, along with Cincinnati and Seton Hall, in the coming weeks. As of now, the most active communicators for Lawrence are assistants Darren Savino of Cincinnati, Tony Chiles of St. John’s, Kevin Ollie of UConn and Van Macon of Rutgers. Look for this duo of Facey and Lawrence to carry over during the long spring and summer of AAU as hundreds of college coaches will flock to their games.

Kansas & Florida have offered Jermaine Lawrence, a 2013 forward from New Rens (NY), per a source.

Kid is blowing up!

Jermaine Lawrence with an effortless 27 in the win. Dude makes winning look easy. No ceiling on this kid.

Legit. Rutgers and Cincy also strong @gregschneider: STJ chances for Jermaine Lawrence?

@mainestory44 looks like a future pro here at #MKC. Rutgers and Cincy are strong, but he could help any college team in the nation.

Mainestory44 is Jermaine Lawrence

Lawrence, Roberson, Caupain, and an elite PG like Rector, Morris, or Ennis (pipe dream) would make for one hell of a recruiting class. I really like Lawrence, he is exactly the kind of forward that would absolutely thrive in Mick's system.

Alexes Hargrove, a friend of the family helping in Lawrence's recruitment, said he will cut his list to five at some point in August. Lawrence said he has no favorites, but Cincinnati assistant Darren Savino has made a major push.
"Darren has been at every game, almost everywhere Jermaine has been," Hargrove said. "Either him or [head coach] Mick Cronin show up to support Jermaine."

This.
Exact class I want. Dream class: Lawerence, Roberson, Caupain and Morris.

But in the end, the 6-foot-10 Lawrence, a junior forward out of Pope John (N.J.), was named MVP of the Blue team after pouring in a game-high 27 points with a variety of slashes, drives and dunks in their 143-122 win.....

“He’s really athletic and he’s pretty tall for his position so he has potential,” Ennis said of his teammate. “I think with the right system and the right coaches he can really do well in college.”

Lawrence is running with the New Rens AAU team and has college coaches across the country raving about his length, athleticism and ability to dominate.

“He’s able to do a lot of things right now,” Pope John coach Jason Hasson told SNY.tv. “He can get to the basket. He can rebound. He can catch and shoot threes. He’s very versatile right now.”

Before the game, Lawrence drilled several 3-pointers during practice. He recently hit six in one AAU game.

“I’ve been working on that all school year so hopefully it gets better during the summer so I can really get a consistent jump shot,” he said.

Said Ennis: “With his size for his position, he can really shoot it.”

Of course, as Lawrence continues to blow up, more and more attention will come his way, and more and more reporters and others will want a piece of his time.

So far, so good.

“He’s a very humble kid and I don’t think he’s realized how big the attention really is yet, but he’s handling it very, very well,” Hasson said.

Rutgers and Cincinnati got in early on his recruitment and Lawrence will visit Rutgers for their team camp June 22-24.

“I’ve been to one of their games before but I didn’t get to see the whole campus but hopefully I’ll go up there later on in the summer and check it out,” Lawrence said.

Cincinnati is also deeply involved thanks to assistant coach Darren Savino, a New Jersey native.

“Darren Savino really comes to a lot of games,” Lawrence said. “He talks a lot, too, over the phone.”

Still, the list of schools now involved includes Kansas, Maryland, Syracuse, Florida, UConn, Villanova, Louisville, St. John’s, UCLA and UNLV.

“I just really have to go visit most of the schools,” he said. “I haven’t really taken a lot of visits yet, so I just gotta go to these campuses.”

Only 3 scholarships available - Wright, Parker, Mbodj.

I'm not going to get my hopes up on Lawrence, although like anyone, he'd be my #1 priority. I also think Caupain is seriously interested in UC. And maybe Morris. Based on them seeming to have more interest in UC, they'd be my 3 choices: PF Lawrence, SG/PG Caupain, PG Morris.

Lawrence highlights start at around 0:35. Looks like a very smooth athlete.

Jermaine Lawrence, New Rens: Lawrence has always been an intriguing prospect in the New York City area, but he never brought 100 percent effort on a consistent basis. In Pittsburgh last weekend, Lawrence was one of the most impressive performers – and he did it again in Philadelphia. He was ranked No. 24 among power forwards before; he's a top-75 overall player now.

Word is Rutgers, St. John's, and Cincinnati are all in strong position with 2013 New Rens forward Jermaine Lawrence.....

Probably hottest player on the circuit right now. Bearcats will have to beat college basketball royalty to land him.
