I like all the returning players. Gaynes, Narysuk, Saunders, Gwynn, JDIV, Tomas, and I'm especially looking forward to Laurence, Copain, Striklin, and Mourmin. ;) :D

I guess I see any one of the 3 guards coming in being able to handle the rock and bring it up the court. I also see with the speed and ability of everyone to handle the ball it will eliminate the need of a true single person to take the title of "point guard". In my opinion all 3 of the soph guards left can hit an open shot. To me what separates Guyn and JDIII from Sanders is they just have more well rounded games can pass defend handle the ball its the athleticism and speed that Sanders lacks. Even hurts him on defending people. I hate to see anyone go but for our style of play and all the talent he is the odd man out even though he can hit an open shot. But I agree its a better problem of having to get rid of someone rather then not having enough talent! Future looks bright in BearcatNation!

Kids are not going to transfer to make room for somebody else. Its not that easy to just go to another college especially D-1. They just have to account for one year. I'm sure he will have a special financial aid package.

Of course they don't say "well if Lawrence is going to have a scholarship, I should leave". But when a coach comes to a sophomore or junior and says "look, I really don't see you playing very much if at all over the next few years. You can keep your scholarship if you want it, but I think you may have more success at another school"...that's when the kid has to take a long look at his situation.

They are gonna ask Johnson or Morman to play prep because 1) they are both raw and 2) it works for both parties. Im sure Cronin told either Johnson or Morman that if they landed Morman, they would be asked to play prep. I know Mormans grades are an issue, could they try to say his grades aren't good enough and make it look like a coincidence? I mean, they could also ask Johnson to pay his own way for a year, because if he can afford Skummit, he can afford UC.

A special financial aid package? Let's keep this on the down-low so every other team doesn't figure out our secret.

There are no special financial aid packages. There are no circumstances that will allow him to get a academic scholarship therefore allowing them to make room. And (not directed at you) I think we need a sticky telling everyone that redshirting does not open up a scholarship. I think I've read that 100 times on here.

The fact is that someone who is either on the current roster won't be here next year or an incoming recruit won't be here. It's really that simple. For those saying "it will work itself out", well yea, it has to because you cannot have 14 scholarships so if UC wants to have a team next year it will have to work out. As to how, who really knows right now besides the UC staff. They obviously have something up their sleeves or they wouldn't have been able to get Lawrence but we'll just have to wait and see.

Is this a joke? Why on God's green earth would someone just be willing to completely pay for a tuition valued at thousands and thousands of dollars when not only did they just have a scholarship at that school, but they could get a full-ride elsewhere? C'mon.

Say his grades aren't good enough and make it look like a coincidence? Yeah that's not shady at all. If I had to guess, Mick already knows what is going to happen; seems like Morman to prep school. Based on all the guards we will have next season (SK, Rubles, JDIII, Guyn, Thomas, KJ, Caupain), it honestly may be a good thing to delay his enrollment for a year. Besides, it can't hurt to start out our 2014 class with a top 100ish player.

Kid is getting a free ride to Skummit with the Black Heritage Scholarship, that's a fact. Their coach went to UK, so it runs in the system. I've seen him play live, and I think it's a PR move to say we can recruit locally. Morman is better and doesn't have a bad attitude. I know ESPN has him ranked higher than Morman and Caupain, but he isn't as good as those two. Sixteen ppg in d3, he would be an average role player at best.

Can someone explain to me how st johns has sixteen guys on there roster? How are they able to do that and uc can't?

they have 3 walkons. UC has 1 walkon but they also had an open scholarship this year. They could have more walkons if they so choose.

According to ehow.com men's D-1 allows 13 full ride scholarships but can allow up to 26 half scholarships however the university sees fit.

But you just said "if he can afford Summit he can afford UC". Now you are saying he went there because of a scholarship, so maybe he can't afford UC. Sounds to me like you have something against Summit.

As for it being a PR move, he didn't recruit Devin Williams and he backed off of Semaj Christon. If I'm doing it for a PR move I would certainly do it at some inner-city schools not a small D3 school that doesn't produce any talent.

I don't think high D1 schools ever use half scholarships unless it is to reward a couple walkons.

Huh? I've also seen Summit play, and I don't really understand where this is coming from. KJ plays within their system and doesn't just jack about a bunch of shots like a lot of high school stars do. They have a couple other DI kids (Woods and Teague), so nobody really dominates the ball for them.

Have you ever seen Morman play an actual game? Yeah, his highlight tape is sick, but who's isn't? It's a highlight tape for a reason. Who says KJ has a bad attitude? Everything I've read/heard/seen, it's the complete opposite.

Gotta love labeling a recruit as a role player before they ever step on campus...

Ok so he might be rich? That doesn't mean he wants to/is going to pay to play at UC. I agree with LongHaul. You sound like you have a Summit vendetta.

P.S. If you evaluate what kind of college career a guy is going to have by his ppg and competition in high school, you're probably going to get a few surprises
