F St. John's. If we lose out to them and their slimy coach again, I'm gonna scream. They can have all the talent they want, but they still have no results because Lavin sucks as a coach. PS Did anyone start a "We want Lawrence!" chant?

Here's your answer: he retweeted this.

Greg Cappel ‏@GregCappel
And the student section is chanting Jermaine Lawrence's name, complete with a big head of him. Hope he sees how well he'd fit here!

And then this:

Jermaine Lawrence ‏@mainestory
Got so much love from the fans out here in Cincy #BearcatNation #CincyLove

And he posted a pic of himself with a fan and his cutout big head.

Edit: He's a tweeting machine.

We didn't play well, but short of a loss I don't know how much that matters. We destroyed them in the second half and the crowd responded well. Seemed like a decent crowd, but the student section was empty. They did start a "Jermaine Lawrence" chant during the first TV timeout and he has smiling and waved to the crowd. I agree that he had to like to see Jackson and Rubles getting to handle the ball and attack the rim and see them go nuts on the defensive end. That's how most players want to play. Hopefully he visits St. Johns when we go there and we destroy them.

That's our best chance at this point, good thing Lavin can't coach, he can only recruit!

The problem I see for Lawrence, in terms of playing time is that UC has Rubles/JJ playing his position, with Thomas in the wings. If Mick continues with playing Nyarsuk at center next year with Mbodj gone, he'll only play one more big and it will be a combination of JJ/Rubles/Thomas. If he goes small, then it's JJ/Rubles/Thomas filling the low post.

I know he's a top 25 recruit, but experience plays into it. And Rubles/JJ have alot of experience.

If Lawrence chose UC, his impact season would be his sophomore year when Rubles/JJ have graduated.

He's being recruited as a small forward, as well as a power forward. He could play either position at the next level. There will be room on the court for him, regardless.

Even if he was just a power forward, he would make an immediate impact. He is just too good. He has Darnell Wilks-like athleticism but he can shoot 3s and drive to the rim or even play back to the basket. He is already 5x better than JJ, and remember, he could play the 4 and JJ could play the 5 when we want to run.

I would be happy with JJ Rubles and Lawrence all in the starting line-up Rubs and Lawrence can both handle the ball well and Jackson is already playing outside the arc, if lawrence comes here he will be a starter.

the way rubles is playing right is more like a small forward anyway, he definitely is a better ball handler than shaquille is right now.

Yeah I don't think playing time will be an issue. I did like that Saturday night he was hanging out with Sanders and Shaq, a couple of east coast guys. I think we have as good of a chance as any. Lawrence was tweeting like crazy and eating up the experience. Obviously just because a guy had a good visit doesn't mean he is coming here, but he certainly did not seem to enjoy UNLV as much. Looking forward to the spring decision

Also, SK senior (SK's dad) was in town along with Parkers dad (both were shown in the crowd on the broadcast during the Wright State game). I wonder if this was just coincidence as they are here for the holidays, or if the coaching staff hinted to these players that it would be nice if they were in town to show JL that there is a family atmosphere on the team. I know Lawrence came here with his mom, and Cronin seems to build a great rapport with the parents of the players. Thus it can't hurt that these families were here during the recruiting process, as I'm sure that they told his mom that the coaching staff takes good care of their kids.

Mary Kline Classic @MKC2K13: 2012 MKC underclassmen co-MVP Jermaine Lawrence is down to Cincinnati, UNLV & St. John's. He will decide soon.

Awesome. Let's get that St. Johns visit out of the way and lock this kid down. I was most worried about Syracuse in his recruitment. I'm very glad to see they are gone.

Curious that Kline didnt tweet this himself.

Do you guys think if we dont get lawrence and SK goes pro Cronin will just try to get another solid Junior College Big man?

What about Jordan Washington? he's 17th on ESPN's centers and he has an interest in UC, He has some great handles too.
