Exactly. I was doing a great job of not getting to excited and just letting it happen since I thought it would be awhile. But this is thrown in and jacks up everything lol. This is what the Enquirer has done to me: 1) They did this article just to get UC fans excited and when he picks SJU the Enquirer will be the first to write about it and say how UC couldn't land him. or 2) Most importantly, somebody def knows something because Bill Koch wouldn't do an article like this randomly for better or for worse.
 
Man I want this guy. I found it interesting Telep said he is a three year starter. Maybe it's just his ranking, but I assumed he would stay in college two years tops.
 
Lawrence was originally supposed to announce on Feb. 3. Maybe Koch is going off that info. Nothing was said about the announcement being postponed, just the offician to St.J

IDK if I read anything into the article. UCBB won't play today and is off for 10 days straight before Weds. Maybe it was written just to get a UCBB article out.

This past week both Cronin and Lavin saw Lawrence, Cronin watched him workout before he was cleared to play. He talked to JL about how he would fit in our offense, maybe that spoke volumes to him. Lavin just watched him play in his debut.

One thing in the Obekpa recruiting was that he was a Nike guy and some felt it had bearing on where he went (Handler may have gotten compensated). Every time I see JL he has adidas on, can't be a bad sign.

Nice insight and a different perspective on it. That last paragraph is a nice observation.

I'm pretty sure Obekpa was an Adidas guy for most of his high school days. I believe he switched to a Nike school briefly at the end...or maybe I have that backwards.

He gets mass respect for showing love to the big o. The man is a legend. It would be cool to see Oscar a little more involved with our basketball program but I'll still take him having court side seats. Lawrence could ball it up right infront of him, doesn't get much better!
 
Many times on here we discuss Oscar and say that none of the kids we are recruiting know who he was or what he did here. What % of recruits would have Oscar as 1 of the 3 idols they would have lunch with. If genuine sounds like JL is mature and respects UCBB at the very least.
 
If he does make the decision at the start of Feb you have to believe that UC not only has a chance, but could potentially be the favorite. Lets all just hope this thing doesn't drag on and it really is nearing the end.

I agree! I think to with all the NY talent we have on our team now, plus Lance and Bishop a few years ago Lawrence can easily feel at "home" here. I looked at his twitter and he mentioned "Can never get comfortable on these trains smfh." I kinda laughed at this comment because he will never have to worry about getting on the trains here in Cincy! Maybe he is ready for a change in scenery :)
 
Someone else on BCN noted that newly UC offeree and JL teammate Diagne and his coach Hasson are at the St.J game but Jermaine is not. Could it be a good sign that he had a scheduled visit this weekend, cancelled and his teammate and coach show up and he doesn't.
