I'm just say Carrington wants to commit and can't because he has to wait to see what Terrell is going to do and Terrell doesn't want to come here then we will take Carrington with open arms

He holds a offer from us he can commit any time he chooses to if he really wants to come here

I know that but if there is someone better than you that might commit a college coach will tell you to wait to see what they do then you can if they don't commit.

I dont think this is a Terrell situation anymore. Im in line with Jeff's earlier thinking that its Cincinnati's staff that is not pulling the trigger on Carrington if he truly wants to come here. With Morman being eligible I think they are set at guard for the forseeable future. The coaches may very well look at a homerun class being : Moore (or Onuaku), Clarke, and Grantham. That adds a lot more length and athleticism to a front court that needs depth.

I like Carrington and Snider but I would be more than happy with all forward in the 2014 class.

Not always how recruiting works. Sometimes an "offer" is not an offer. I remember back when Devon Scott committed to the bearcats and UC pulled it later on. It's a two way street and if the bearcats backed off Terrell, especially after Savino had spent so much time in recruiting him, there is reason to believe that the same would be true for Carrington. The preference may have changed with Morman being eligible.

I agree with this Jack. I think Snider will be the only guard the staff continues to recruit, and I am not sure how realistic it is that we land him. Other that the they will focus on the front court. Getting the four you mentioned on campus will go a long way to determining if we land any. I assume UC is still in good position with Moore, Onuaku is probably a UofL lean...not sure about Clarke or Grantham.

I have to imagine Mick is putting the full court press on Snider. If the kid wants to stay close to home, UC has a great shot.

There will be
1 guard
1 wing
2 or 3 forwards depending on if Lawrence leaves and there not all getting playing time at the 2 spot either Johnson or Carrington if he commits will be a pg because Guyn will be leaving and Morman will more than likely be a wing so that leaves SK, Davis.

There are several scenarios that could play out. Guys there are always things behind the scene that aren't public knowledge or that are known by some that have been asked not to go public. If Terrell doesn't come to UC Mick and the staff aren't going to start scrambling.

I think the coaching staff must be in really good with Snider and think they have a good shot at him because there is no way you recruit a guy (Terrell) for 3 years and just stop idk just very strange. Plus Snider is the better ranked players and wants to stay close to home.

Still think the drop in interest came with Morman being ruled eligible. I agree for Savino to build that kind of relationship and not even have him come to campus seemed strange to me. With Deberry already in the fold I think they bring in another big man (Moore preferably) and then a combination of Clark, Grantham, or another Juco. All playing the stretch 4 hybrid 3 position. I think the only way they take a guard at this point is if they can land Snider. I just dont see, if they actually did pull the plug on Terrell, why they would not do the same with Carrington.

Does anyone else really believe that we backed off of Terrell. Why spend 3-4 years of resources recruiting a guy to back off in the end? Doesn't make sense.

I think that because of playing time he backed off of us, and/or he is going to PC with Abu.

2014 SG Jared Terrell currently visiting URI. Will likely choose between Rams + Oklahoma State this weekend. Top 100 player. Burly guard.

I think once the staff realized they weren't getting him, they backed off. If the staff thought they were going to get him or had a legit shot, they would have pushed for a visit.

At this point expect the remaining schollys to be filled by some combo of the following players:

Justin Bibbs
Donte Grantham
Quinton Snider
Quadri Moore
Chinau Onuaku
Khadeen Carrington
Gary Clark

Recruiting is always changing but imo if we hear of any more verbals early it will be from these seven guys. UC wants/needs one of the three among Moore, Onuaku, and Clark. I do believe the Mormon news has given them a sense of flexibilty but fully expect if another guard and wing player are both signed there will be a 4th scholly to be opened. My guess would be it'd come at the expense of one of three players or the early departure of a player.

Just add the names Rasean Davis and juco Dewayne Benjamin

In my dream world I want the class to round out with Moore, Clark, and Snider. Think Moore will be a bearcat. Think we have to beat out NC State to get Clark. Snider it would all depend on how much he wants to stay close to home. If Michigan State doesnt get Ulis they will put on the full court press and Snider's good friend Trevon Bluiett just committed to UCLA. Tough to beat those two out. But that would be a homerun in my opinion at this point. (Also love Grantham if you subbed him with Clark I would be just as happy)
