The only thing that sucks about recruits reading these threads is that they see a fanbase who is accepting and happy being a mediocre program, a fanbase that embraces 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place and at-large bids to the NCAA, and a board of trustees that feels the same way. Championships once meant something here. I would want to sign somewhere that would give me a chance to win championships. Reading these threads might convince me otherwise.

I think Cronin would get better reviews if he did any of the following:

Brought in better recruits, won conference championships, won conference tournament championships, got good NCAA seeds, won games in the NCAA Tournament, sent players to the NBA, or played a style that was entertaining to watch.

We get none of that, and it's our job as fans to prop up the coach who makes well over $2M per year? You've got it twisted my friend.

I'm giving this post a grade of A+. It is short and sweet and right on point and it is 100% accurate. It's amazing that this is so hard for many on here to understand. I'm glad someone other than me said it. If any of those factors that you cited would improve, it would give us a little hope, but years go by and nothing changes....including the coach.

look I know Jacob is going to come in and say put you on my ignore list but I'd rather not. I know you know Cincinnati basketball and really care about the program. There needs to be some middle ground though as far as having every thread bashing Cronin. It's past the point of trying to get your word across. It's truly ruining this website. We are on a recruit thread for 2017 that has a legitimate chance on going to us and yet it has turned into bashing Cronin.

Enough is enough. Honestly me and I would imagine the majority of the people that get on this blog is sick of it.

The only person on this list I would call a bust would be Biggie. Thomas and Bishop basically played significant minutes for us ALL 4 years. I would complain more about the guys who never really saw the court before I would complain about actual contributors.

Whether or not they performed up to your expectations is one thing. Calling them "trash" is pure BS and unwaranted.

Sanders was much more of a "bust" than anyone but McClain imo. Shaq Thomas may have played, but he only won 1 NCAA Tournament game in his 4 years. And never won a conference tournament game and an NCAA game in the same season. So individually or in a team sense, hard for me to say he had a successful career.

This is not accurate at all. There are a scant few who post on this site (today not 3 years ago) who are perfectly happy sitting at the same level of achievement for perpetuity. There may be a few. However, I believe most on here are either very unhappy with the coach or think he needs to do better.

I think the main thing is that this topic comes up in a large majority of threads and some fans would rather it doesn't get dragged into every conversation about the team. Is it important? yes. Do we need to rehash this in regards to every topic? Not really.

The only ones sick of it are the ones who like Cronin. Everyone else is sick of the positive comments that Cronin gets on this site.....and we hear all those comments within almost every thread as well. If Mick improves his performance, then you won't hear these comments that you are sick of. It's pretty simple. 10 freaking years is a long time, which means over time, the bitterness will creep into more and more threads. And, his recruiting is ground zero, numero uno of all his issues, so there is no more deserving place for this topic to come up repeatedly.

Some of the ones you think "despise" him, don't despise him at all. There's a big difference between despising a coach and wanting him to get the bar back to a level that this university deserves. We all thought he could do it. He hasn't. He's done OK. I don't think OK is what you pay $2.5 Million for. He has a top 20 salary. Are we getting top 20 results? No, except for consecutive NCAAs. Jacob laid out a whole host of other criteria that would be expected from a coach making that kind of money. It's within his power to shut the naysayers up. Last year's team was supposed to shut the naysayers up. Instead, it fueled more. Blame Mick for these threads.
