UC will announce sometime today its full Big East opponents list. However, ESPN is reporting that UC's will play Villanova, Marquette, and St. John's twice this season.

If this is true then the Big East schedule should look something like this....keep in mind this is not 100% official but pretty darn close

Home - Villanova, Marquette, St. John's, Syracuse, Georgetown, DePaul, Pittsburgh, Providence, Notre Dame

Away - Villanova, Marquette, St. John's, UConn, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Louisville, USF, WVU

In looking at the repeats for everyone, UC, Marquette, and Syracuse are not going to be happy.

How do we draw St. John's twice again? Not that I'm complaining- I think the 'Cats will be the better team next year...

St. Johns will be down this season in my opinion. too many freshmen. They have talent and will bite some teams on a given night. Schedule will be tough but I think that's a good thing. UC has a good core of talent and vets. That usually bodes well in the BEast

I like this from ESPN: The Big East did a fair and equitable job in selecting the repeat games. And if you’re a fan of Cincinnati or Marquette, take solace in knowing the league must consider your team to be a conference contender this season.

Some drawbacks about the scheduling would be, I am tired of playing St. John's twice. We never get to play them at MSG and playing in their high school size gym is really tough. OH, that same reason can go for 'Nova too! Besides us never playing good against them, we always have to play them at their shoe box size gym where they have won like hundreds of games in a row there haha. With the BE having so many teams why can't we have some variety with scheduling?! That really gets under my skin. Also, I can not be mad with playing loserville at home but I would like to check out their new arena ha. When are we going to play them twice? Why do we have to go to Pitt again?! We also never play good there either. Okay, I just wanted to rant for a bit with some of the initial thoughts that came to me after I saw the schedule. Honestly, I could really care less with our OCC now seeing our official BE schedule. But then again, it would be nice to get one more quality opponent so our guys will be fully ready for the gauntlet.

Believe we play Pitt at home.We have Syracuse, Georgetown, Pitt and ND at home. Along with return games from 'Nova and Marquette. I like that. Of the away games, I think UConn will be mid-pack, St. Johns is sooo young. Louisville and WVU will be very tough to beat at home.

Home Opponents – DePaul, Louisville, Notre Dame, Providence, Seton Hall, Syracuse

Away Opponents – Uconn, Georgetown, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, South Florida, West Virginia

Yeah not sure why we go to Pitt again and Louisville comes to Fifth Third. Anyone know why?

I don't know. Guess you have to play on the road somewhere. Think the Cats are going to be fine this season.

Not sure why the Bearcats get to play at home against L'ville again this year....But I do know that Rick Pitino is not very happy about it, or the rest of their schedule.

"We have one of the premier commissioners in athletics, but whoever's doing our scheduling must be doing it with a Ouija board," Pitino said. "How can you play two of the top three (projected) teams in the league twice and have to play another top team that's a rival game (at Cincinnati) on the road for a second straight year? It just doesn't make any sense to me. West Virginia has a similar argument. They must be doing it with a Ouija board."

There are some head scratchers on UC's schedule too- why are they playing St. John's twice for the second straight year? Why do the 'Cats play @ Pitt for the second consecutive year?

I don't like the schedules either. I think the football schedules are much more well done for the Big East- though it must be considerably easier taking into account the number of teams.
