Hes a great player that wants a chance at a NCAA run. Niagara isnt that team. So I dont see it being much of a problem. And once he commits somewhere he only has a year left, so I dont see him or his dad saying or doing anything that would hurt the last year of eligibility he has .

I think you're right. Just thought it was worth putting it out there since multiple people have mentioned it.

Jon Rothstein tweeted earlier today that uc is in the mix for transfer from wvu terry Henderson among several other schools. Wont be eligible til 15, but still would be a good get.

Henderson is cutting to 4 today? Does that mean he will take 4 visits?
Do we know when Mason will cut his list? Seems like Mason's dad should see the natural fit here with SK gone. I just hope he wouldn't be expecting to get the # of shots that SK did.

Mason is talking with his dad this weekend and should have official list next week.
Henderson will be cutting to 4 today but as far as visits idk.

I prefer Henderson over Mason. Henderson has proven he can score efficiently in a big time conference. And I just worry about Troy and KJ if Mason would want to come in and dominate the ball. Henderson would be an unbelievable get for a 2015 2 year guy. He would also practice with the guys and become part of the group over the year. It would be best long term imo if this year we throw Troy and KJ in the deep end and let them learn how to swim. I don't want them getting bailed out and deferring to a volume shooter. KJ can be very efficient and I like the idea of him starting, rather than splitting minutes with a guy who is taking more shots. How much further would Mason really take this team?

Henderson is the guy I really would like to land. He has good size for a shooting guard and was very efficient from the field and from three in his two years at WVU. Maryland fans seem to think they are in good position with him because his father recently moved back to Glen Burnie, MD. Although, Henderson says that isn't a huge factor in his decision.

Does anyone know if we have any chance at mason? I read St. John's wake forest cincinnati providence and seton hall have shown interest. Seems like that would give us a great shot as long as he isn't set on staying in the northeast.

@GoodmanESPN: WVU transfer Terry Henderson (@t_henderson15) told ESPN he intends to visit UCLA, Maryland, Wake Forest & NC State

I basically dont want him for the reason I wanted Henderson over him. We are going into this year hoping Troy and KJ can become double figure scorers, and I dont want to get Mason and be saying the exact same thing next year. He is like a bad SK. He averaged 25+ppg (as he makes sure to mention on twitter) for a 7-25 MAAC team. And look how he got those #s...5.1 3 PT attempts per game at 28.6% (4.4 attempts at 28.8% for career) and almost 11 FT attempts per game at 72%. He isnt getting to the line like that on a real team against good competition. He would have people playing 5 feet off of him at all times bc he likes to shoot and miss 3s. He also averaged just 1.5 assists to 2.8 TO.
This isnt the program for him and his dad to come in and crash the party and try to take over the scoring so he can try to make the NBA. SK worked as a volume shooter bc we didnt have size or experience at guard and he shot 35% 3 PT and like 84% FT. We dont need a 1 year, inefficient, low level, chucker coming in and holding the progress of our young guards up.
Maybe I think too highly of KJ and Caupain but imo this is the year to let them play through mistakes. We would be better in the long run for it. Mason isnt coming in for 1 year and leading this program anywhere we couldnt go without him.

^^ All that being said, if we got him it would obviously be bc the coaches feel comfortable with the situation/role. And I'd believe they were doing the right thing. I think other programs will offer him more on the court than us though.

My best case scenario would be to go into this season as is and let the newcmers duke it out and everyone starts to carve out their future tole. Then get Jenifer and redshirt him and get 2 out of Evans, Beasley, Mitchell, Cheatham, or an unknown wing type between 6'4"-6'7" for 2015 class.

I think bringing in a class primarily of JUCO's put an end to the better in the long run approach. If you are going to hand out scholarships to the likes of Ellis and Cobb to plug holes, then you sure as hell are going to take a guard that led the country in FTM and FTA.

I see your point on the 3 point numbers. As for free throws, that is one area that translates no matter what league you are in IMO.

FT I can agree on. That is impressive. He would have to cut his FG attempts in half though. He averaged 18.5 FG attempts per game last year. 15 over his 3 year career. That'd be a lot to add to an already 12 deep roster.

Id take a 25+ ppg scorer any day. Not even thinking twice about it

I will be so happy if he ends ups here. KJ caupain Morman Cobb and mason. Mick would have plenty of options and he could bring in gelawn to man up on D

The question (that I don't know the answer to) is whether he took a lot of shots because he was the only option on a bad team OR because he is a volume shooter at heart.
