2014 Spring Recruiting

Sk would've played over Davis and Dixon. Remember before he git here Mick said he could score ten points easily. We would've gone further in tournament with Lance team and also would been getting better recruits 3yrs ago.

What world do you live in? Mick has said Sean could barely dribble when he got to UC, and you think, as a true freshman, he would've been the difference in knocking of Kemba Walker's UCONN? Come on man...

Wrong year. The SK redshirt year was before we even made the tournament. So if you thought his argument was bad then...

I think we need to get this thread back on topic: 2014 Spring Recruiting

If you want to discuss SK, please start another thread. Thanks.

Vaughn couldn't dribble either. Didn't need him to be all big east but YES he was worlds better than Davis or Dixon. You ever heard playing with better talent makes you better. Who is to say SK could'nt make all American last year?

UNLV transfer Bryce Dejean Jones is visiting Iowa State this weekend. Can graduate and be eligible to play this season.

I think most recruiting folks think that is where he'll end up. Not sure if Cincinnati was in the mix beyond the initial contact.

So how the hell can you argue against not playing a all American and #2scorer in history? Sk freshman year we would've had 2 of top 3scorers in team history and Micks only NBA player.

Marshall guard Kareem Canty has gotten his release from the program, his coach says.

Averaged 16.3 points and 5.5 assist a game as a freshman. Quality guard originally from Brooklyn. Cincinnati did recruit him out of high school. He definitely fits the bill for a PG for the class of 2015. Hope the staff reaches out...

He wouldnt have played over Vaughn or Lance. Was a freshmen that was AT BEST 3rd on the depth chart behind a top 5 scorer in program history and a top 10 recruit that was going to be one and done. There was no latter to be climbed and no minutes to be had at the only position he could play. Couldnt handle the ball to play point and wasnt big enough to play the three. Also his outside shot was suspect until he got to college. This is a dumb argument.
Vaughn couldn't dribble and was HORRIBLE and worn down is senior yr. Sk would've helped that team just like TC and KJ would've helped this year if given real playing time. Mick has built this program back up now its time to play your best players and stop with loyalty passes. Every year Mick redshirts a player that could've gotten us farther in tournament.

when last time we had player avg 5+ assist? Sounds like the real deal

Down goes another one for Houston...

2014 PG JaQuel Richmond of Wesleyan Christian (NC) has asked for his release from The University of Houston.

Assume he'll land at an ACC school around where he is from. I guess Kelvin Sampson didn't use his texting plan to keep in contact with him?

I was hoping Houston would turn into a solid team for our conference for RPI purposes. Even if they hovered around the 100 mark it would be good for the conference. Sounds like they are in full rebuilding mode now.

Yeah, this stinks. Kelvin Sampson will have them good in 2-3 years, but I was counting on Houston being an NIT or bubble caliber team next season. We know UConn and SMU will be good, but for the sake of our RPI we now have to count on Memphis who is losing a lot and Tulsa who will be experiencing a big step up in competition.

Tulsa is young....3 seniors (one saw virtually no minutes, one tied for 8th most minutes) they had 10 guys average double figure minutes - they will win their share of AAC games. They finished their season with 11 wins in a row.

Boston University sophomore point guard Maurice "Mo" Watson is transferring.

Averaged 13 points and 7 assists while shooting 50% from the field. He will be very highly sought after, wonder if he'd consider Cincinnati.

Transferring to Creighton. That is a very solid landing spot for both sides...

Terrance Smith from UT-Martin could be a nice graduate school transfer. He shoots over 40% from three and has averaged double figures all 3 years.
