What would you consider a success for the season? Just curious where everyone on here is at. For me I think AAC champs is something we should contend for every year. This year we win it. 3-5 seed in the tourney. I think we have all the talent to make the elite 8. That would be a success to me. Sweet 16 would leave me with an okay feeling, anything less would be a disappointment.

Final 4 if we get a favorable draw in the tourney. Not sure if our SOS is strong enough for a 3 seed, but if we win the conference, have a solid winning streak and take care of Iowa State, UConn and Butler it's possible.

We better beat that other team in town also.

From the above link:

25. Cincinnati: The Bearcats can absolutely win the AAC, and we think Octavius Ellis is among the most valuable players Mick Cronin's ever coached.

Where did you see this? I'd be interested in going but haven't seen anything about it.

It's going to be an open to the public scrimmage at 1:00pm on October 24th, before the homecoming game. Not many details out to this point though.

Are we looking at the same amount of zone defense as last year? Seems like that could work well with a shortened clock. I'd like to see KJ applying pressure in the backcourt after makes if we are falling back into the zone.

We bring back nearly the entire team that advanced in the tournament, our head coach is back, we added 3 talented freshman and still do not crack the top 25 of the coaches poll? What a joke.
none of returning players strike fear to NOBODY but homers. Ok everybody returns off team that struggled scoring big time. Some places fans would be saying a lot if these players shouldn't even returned. I think this is our best team in years they still need come out firing on all cylinders and prove to world their good. We probably don't have 1 top 100 nba prospect on team outside of Clark.

I don't think any single player on offense strikes fear. However, if we can get just 2 more points out of each position we would average 70 pts. When you combine that with our top tier D our TEAM might strike some fear in the opponents! We have a well rounded team...it's not all about individual offensive performance.

What's funny is Purdue who we beat is ranked higher than us even tho we bring back the whole team that beat them and added better recruits than them

They added a 5* recruit in Swannigan, which is huge in the eyes of pollsters who don't really look into each team. So if they take a glance and see Purdue added a big recruit, they will automatically put them ahead of us. It's stupid, but just how the system works.

I totally agree. You can't say though we return ALL our top players when only one or two actually played good basketball. Nobody averaged over ten points or five assists. I think without doubt were top 15. We still have to prove it though

Purdue still has big center?
