Since the Bearcats are not in action until Friday, I would like to hear everybody's projections for the major American conference awards.

My projections
Player of the year: Boatright or Nic Moore
Coach of the year: LD or Larry Brown
Defensive Player of the year: Possibly Ellis?? Markus Kennedy from SMU??
Freshman of the year: Gary Clark or Hamilton from Uconn

Also, if anyone would like to share their all conference teams please share.

This ^ , although I really think Nic Moore is over rated and the Boatright should get it, they just won't let UCONN sweep all three.

Yeah duh I forgot Brimah for Defensive POY. Would you replace Allen with Kennedy? Caupain? DeCosey?

Tulane was picked to finish last in our conference this year and beat us and Memphis away, that's pretty special for them

The way I read it, there's only one day the awards are actually given, just 3 separate announcements. I thought that is kind of typical.

I guess they gotta see who makes the first team, then pick a POY out of that group.

Then I guess they want 3 days worth of news coverage, but I don't know, who cares.

My first team was spot on, on the second team I considered Dabney and Kennedy for the Allen Jr spot. I still think Hamilton should have made it but he was honorable mention.

I can't really agree with Brimah getting defensive player - he has one skill in blocking. He averages 3 point something rebounds game compared to Ellis's 7 point something. Ellis averages almost a steal a game to Brimahs .2 steals a game.

Brimah gets all of the hype before the season and around the country. So its no surprise that they give it to him anyway.

Justin Jackson got it for the same reason. He was an above average defender but not great with the exception of his shot blocking skills.
