I'm not an OSU football fan, I do however like high quality football of which UC does not put out. I stopped being a fan after they got Tuberville. That guy is a VERY mediocre coach. No sense in waiting time/money watching that crap product.

Tuberville hasn't been great but it's too early to say that he's been mediocre. Despite Butch leaving the program relatively dry, the man has us set up for a very good season ahead. And we should see a lot more players drafted in the future. Gunner Kiel, Mekale McKay, Chris Moore, Parker Ehringer, and Silverberry Mouhan all come to mind.

Hahaha! Read that post. I said it was a close game for 2 quarters but OSU was in control all the way. Over 100 plays ran and over 700 yards of offense. Come on man, you are grasping at straws. UC has been blown out by EVERY quality opponent under Tubs. Enjoy the slow death of UC football!

Tuberville has been very poor thus far in big games. I agree. But so was Butch. And it's early.

And OSU won that game handily, i never suggested anything otherwise. I was simply stating that our offensive performance was not a fluke. And i seem to recall a difference of 5 points sometime in the 3rd quarter. The talent, coaching, etc. may have overwhelmed us, but I fail to see how a VERY small sample size can be attributed to the "death of UC football." You don't find that to be a little extreme?

In effect, the games you are using as indicators for "the slow death of UC football" are:

1. Tommy Tuberville's Second game as head coach of UC
2. Tommy Tuberville's first and second bowl games as head coach of UC
3. And a beatdown from last seasons conference champion.
4. A loss to the National Champions
5. An overtime loss to louisville
6. And a loss on the road to Miami (fl)

In context, i don't see how any of those games can constitute the death of any program.

Outside of the Louisville game, none of those other ones were even close! I'm talking beatdowns where Tubby looked like a deer in headlights. Even in the games where we beat mediocre competition the coaching has been AWFUL. Head scratching decision after head scratching decision from a supposed coaching veteran. This isn't the SEC, to beat good teams you must have good coaching and UC doesn't have that. I love how all of a sudden we looked like a competent team once we started playing scrub teams. Everyone seems to be giving Tubs a pass because he won 13 games at Auburn more than a decade ago. Look at his record since!! Very mediocre and on the verge if being fired by TTech. Then our genius AD hires him without even an interview. What a joke.

I think Texas Tech was way too eager to get Kingsbury in there. I consider that to be more of an indictment on them, than on Tuberville. Especially considering how they've been since. Last year was disappointing for us, no doubt. But OSU won it all and I think Miami FL had the 2nd most players drafted. And both were road games. With Gunner in his 2nd year, and being back in Nippert, I don't see any reason to be so down on this team entering the year.

Tubs problem is the grand scheme of things is trying to recruit way too much in SEC country. Granted he may steal one or two 4 star recruits away but overall he won't be successful. The schools he's trying to recruit against are above and beyond light years ahead of the UC football program and always will be. He needs to come to the realization he is no longer at Auburn.

The thing I worry about is if he's in retirement mode and just coasting through the motions of his final years as a coach. The other coaches that have had success with us were younger, starting their careers out trying to make a name for themselves and they overachieved.

With that said, I am confident in the state of our football program and think we'll have a terrific season. We'll see how Tubbs does. I'm just ready to be back in Nippert!

I believe whole heartedly that Coach Kerry Coombs should have been offered the heading coaching position after Butch left. I'm admittedly a little biased having played for him however he would have been a force in local recruiting, a hell of a motivator and a damn smart football man.

I don't mind Tuberville recruiting Florida as hard as he does. There is a lot of talent there and he's worked that region for a long time. If he keeps pulling guys like Mike Boone out of there, I'll be ok with it.

God no. Coombs is no where ready to coach even a D-II team.

Also how soon we forget Brian Kelly never really recruited well on the defensive side of the ball. When Coombs has had good talent in the secondary they have performed. If Urban Meyer trusts him enough to run his DBs, most of the special teams and handle most the heavy recruiting especially the visits... I think he's a good ball coach.

I loved seeing him finish 8-5 again. Almost as enjoyable as seeing him lose to Alabama in the National Championship game by 28

There where small rumors miami was interested in him, and that he would raid the gcl for coordinators (specht d cord, rodenburg o cord). That's a great staff if u ask me
