I try and not worry about what X is getting. To me, it's nothing new, they have been recruiting solid 4 star guys the past few years. They might turn into a second Nova. Seems like they have adapted Nova's recruiting philosophy.

I am worried about getting a solid big man recruit. Coaching staff simply needs to get the job done. I want zero excuses.

We're going to need one in the worst way. I keep seeing us going after 6'4" guards/wings, but at this point, that shouldn't be highest priority. Not judging their recruiting ways; just saying we really need to start preparing for once Clark/Washington are gone. We have nothing beyond them at the moment.

We have Brooks if he clears up his grade with the NCAA.we also have Tre Scott at the 4 for 4 more years. I'm not saying we don't have a need for a big. I agree we do but we do have some pieces on the team.

It's hard to put anything into Brooks since he's literally not on campus yet. Scott may have the potential to be an occasional contributor, but I don't think anyone has higher expectations than that. Hard to bank on either all that much at the moment.

I think Scott is going to change some people s opinion of his game and future. At least I hope so.

We're about to join the Big 12, and everyone's worried about who Xavier's recruiting. Assuming we do in fact get in, this will be program-changing. I'm not saying we're going to start landing all these McDonalds All-Americans, but it'll without a doubt be a great recruiting tool. The gorgeous arena will be a huge lift too. It may take a little bit, since we a) aren't in the Big 12 yet, and b) the arena is two years away, but there's a lot going on to be excited about. Even if you despise Mick, you can't say with a straight face that the two things I mentioned won't have a positive impact on recruiting and the direction of the basketball and football programs.

My point here is, give it a little time. Kids don't want to see renderings. They want to physically walk into a gorgeous arena. They want to turn on ESPN and watch a Kansas @ UC game. We are headed in the right direction. Like everyone else, I am a bit skeptical towards our 2017 recruiting, but overall, things are still very bright. Plenty to be excited about.

How did actually playing in the greatest basketball conference of all-time for 7 years impact Mick's recruiting? We've already seen his recruiting in a great conference. Not impressed. We have not seen his teams play in a gorgeous arena, but if you're banking on a huge lift from that event, I think you are way over-stating its impact. It will be prettier, and better for the fans. That's about it. It will have little effect on recruiting. We already have the magnificent facilities that the recruits care about. The arena will be like a cherry on the top.

Is the evaluation period over? Are we looking to get Gaines, Moorman, and a project/transfer big?

*Hopefully this Gaines and this Moorman would work out better than the other ones we've had.

Would you all think it is fair to agree that most kids want to decide where they are playing before the start of their senior year basketball season? Basically, I'd imagine we have at least one commit coming within the next month or two. We shall see.

It usually depends on how good the player is. If he is really good, and highly recruited, he will pick his favorite school early. Below the radar and lower star players usually wait it out longer to see if they can get any offers from their "dream" schools.
