Which is probably something Mick should do. Whether it's his assistants or him that is leading to the lackluster recruiting, they need to bring some new blood into the program.

Is it considered lackluster to have 4 high quality 4 star players to go with a 1st team All Conference 3 star at the top of the roster? Hell, the two guys at the back of the roster were 4 star kids for a long time before fading to high 3 star status as seniors. Brutal recruiting by the staff.

As for hiring AAU guys to get one player, I'll pass. I've seen it blow up far more often than not around the country.

I'm all for bringing in a guy that consistently land high quality recruits, but the problem at the moment is they make far more than UC can pay. I'd drive to Oregon and get Stubbs myself if it was possible, but UC can't even sniff the 500K a year he is making with the Ducks. UC can barely pay their top assistant half that number. Semantics, I suppose...

Can't Cronin sacrifice some of his nice enlarged salary and get Stubbs back?! 😆😇

So that makes it less tough? And I'm more talking about mostly Alabama and Mississippi. Those two states in particular seem to have a large number of kids looking to stay close to home. At least that's my experience after a decade of covering recruiting...

Must be the reason why neither Mississippi or Alabama have won the SEC in over 10 years.

Yes, his recruiting has been lackluster. But of course if you think his recruiting has been awesome (see, I can use hyperbole too), then I guess the issue is coaching.

Can you show me where I said it was "awesome"?

Facts would seem to show the 2016-17 Cincinnati team will have top 100 players at 4 spots and a 1st teal All Conference 3 star at the other. I'm sure there are a bunch of programs that can claim that across the country.

But yeah. Mick sucks. His staff sucks. The players suck.

Sorry to interrupt. Carry on...

Too close to the program to even remotely view things objectively. Carry on...

I think most people acknowledge that we have a good starting 5. But we have very little depth behind it and once again have let spots go unused. I just don't have any interest in hearing excuses about depth this year.

Leon Ellison king james aau coach and Princeton coach should be leading candidate. He probably biggest aau coach in ohio right now in our own backyard. Former walk on meachem has outstanding program here in city also we should get players from

Are they barely making payments on cronin 2.3mil?

They already get players from Meacham, they're called walk-ons.

IMO if UC does get in the Big 12, I would like to see Cronin replace Jackson with some one who has Texas connections.

Pretty interesting to see our 2017 recruiting. We don't seem to be targeting any true big man so the staff either thinks highly enough of brooks to replace Washington in two years or they think with a new state of the art areana or possibility of a new conference playing the likes of Kansas every year they can land a highly rated big man 2018 or a huge impact big in 2019. But right now our three main targets appear to be:
Keith Williams
Anthony Gaines
Jp moorman
*imo we will get two of these three

Mick is a very dominant head coach (holds a lot of power) I love savino and LD but they aren't adding anything to practice mick doesn't or can't, and they are getting paid some big bucks letting one go and paying a Stubbs or some young gun charming recruiting ace might be a good thought. If this year doesn't go very good (like 6 seed or better) maybe mix it up and bring new life into micks staff

Moore will be leaving with Washington...

Do we really want 2 of those 3 players. My #1 option is Keith Williams and my #2 is Gaines. If one of those players commits i dont think the other will. I want Williams and a guy that can play the 4/5

After picking up a wing my guess is they'll look for a Center that they can redshirt or maybe a transfer. With Kyle, Gary, Brooks, Moore, and Scott at the 4/5, there wouldn't be any playing time available for the 2017 season with 3 seniors. Also thinking ahead, I expect they'll target a high-major PF in the '18 class since there will be a big void there once Kyle and Gary are gone.

We technically have 3 scholarships available. So a class of Trevor Moore, JP Moorman, Keith Williams, and a big guy could happen. Guys like Jenifer, Quadri Moore, Scott, and Brooks shouldn't be a deterrent to good recruits.
