I think PG wise it will be either Jaelin Llewellyn Tyler Harris or Nate Hinton. I think we should def be happy about any. Harris is short though but might be the better shooter of the 3.

If I had to guess, I'd guess we get Llwellyn.

As far as a big man or a wing who knows but I def say one of those 3 I just listed will be a the next bearcat point guard.

Anyone know why we haven't offered Jaxson Hayes from Moeller?

from what I hear he isn’t all that good. Came off the bench as a jr and went from 6’7 to 6’10 in a quick growth spurt.

It seems the bigs in this class are extremely weak.. So In this class you see a lot of big name schools offering 3 Star projects who they’d never offer in a better class. UC has diarra, Scott, brooks and Nsesome already booked and most are projects. I think the last thing UC needs is another project and that added depth might scare off a skilled big in the 2019 class

If hes not that good, hes not that good. I was just asking bc i saw some big names showing interest and he's right in our backyard.

I'm not worried about scaring off a 2019 big with a 2018 big though. We'll need someone one of those years for sure. and the guys we have will all be around either year. I'd rather find the right fit than kick the can down the road and hold out for a mystery 2019 player. The hypothetical guys we always talk about saving our scholarships for never really seem to be any different than the guys we are already in on. And I don't mean that as a knock on our recruiting...I just don't think saving scholarships for guys who's names we don't even know yet is a risky proposition. But again, in this case...if hes not that good, hes not that good.

U.C. does not get a chance very often for a local big, maybe he a late bloomer or maybe basketball was secondary for him until his growth spurt. I can't think of many local bigs Dickey-J. Flynn- Brannen- Starks-L.Thompson-BJ Grove-J.Jacobs but they are rare. This kid seems athletic ,smart, and I would hate to watch him play for some one else.

I’m usually not for kicking the can either but it’s pretty much known that this maybe one of the worst classes for bigs in a long while. Other schools in much different roster situations can’t afford to not have a big this class, so they go all in on project players.

I’d rather UC land a point guard and A combo guard this class.

Yeah I'd LOVE to get a good pair of guards that compliment each other and can both play the 1 and 2. Obviously one of them would have to play the 1 primarily though.

Id like to get 2 HS guards for the fall signing period. Then we can have 1 scholarship to use on someone in the spring, whether it be a transfer, guy who de-commits from somewhere else, etc.

One thing that will be tough is finding a high quality PG for '18 with two senior guards on the roster. Not saying we can't and won't get one but it's definitely a factor.

I keep thinking we will miss on our top targets and offer Brenden Adams(Troy Caupain's cousin) a big guard from Maryland.

Here is my concern for this recruiting class. We have some good selling points with a new arena and recent success...but we have some good to great players in place for starting minutes right now on the perimeter. We could use a big with skills and ability to score next year but our perimeter looks good as long as everyone stays.

It seems like this recruiting cycle is loaded with PG's and wings but not so much at big. Can we land 2 high quality guards/wings given the competition for minutes? Is there a skilled big out there we can land?

I feel like we should add the first two quality guards/wings that we can in the fall and wait till spring to address a big. If we have to go grad transfer for a big maybe we should even if Cronin would rather not.

It would be nice to see if our current bunch of bigs can develop by springtime making adding a big less of a priority. If we don't see the necessary improvement it may be a perfect scenario for a grad transfer. I would love to see us keep with the current trend of having the ability to score from inside and out. I don't think it's mandatory...probably more of a luxury...but I am getting used to it:)

I completely agree that a Grad Transfer would be a good fit in this upcoming class. Doesn't seem likely. I wouldn't mind getting a quality HS wing if we aren't in for a Grad Transfer. We will have Evans, Cumberland, T Moore, and Williams as wings. Between those guys, Scott, and Diarra, we should be able to figure out the 3/4 pretty easily. But it'd be nice to start developing another guy to help out in small ball if someone gets hurt, leaves early, transfers out, or just doesn't pan out.

It's pretty awesome talking about this stuff as a fan without much of a sense of urgency. We have a pretty full roster already for 2018-19 with a boatload of talent. These guys we're hoping for in 2018 are almost just a luxury. Don't want to get too comfortable though bc we saw in 2012 what can happen down the road if you miss on a class. But as long as we land a PG we feel good about for the future, we should be able to keep the ball rolling.

I agree it doesn't seem likely but as I understand there are a couple of scenarios where Cronin would use it. Either A...we are thin at the position (which would not be the case really) or B we have a legit chance to make a run for a Final 4 or something but we don't have one of the necessary ingredients.

Option B seems more likely. Especially if we keep Evans for a 4th year. We will see how this season plays out.

U.C. hasn't offered yet- why would he list a school that hasn't offered him. I THINK he is a good player and when the dust settles would be happy with him.
