Is this our best offensive lineup?
I think the jermiah davis injury really hurts this team.

BENCH FOR GOOD-CHEIK and JUSTIN JACKSON
ZERO OFFENSIVE THREAT-a shot block is nice from time to time but 3pts 2 rebs and 3-blks per game STINKS

I'm ok with that lineup. It's certainly worth a try. I have and continue to believe that Jackson is a 6th man

I'm not sure about starting but I'd be in favor of more minutes for Guyn, Thomas, and Sanders.

Mick doesn't have a hair on his ass if he doesn't start Alex in the USF game because by then, it won't make any difference anyway. It would be a fitting tribute to our "Rudy".

Mbodj was great last night...Though I wouldn't be opposed to a smaller lineup as long as they could defend the other teams big men.

I like Rubles and Cheik off the bench. I actually liked the lineup yesterday. I dont think lineup is the issue, I think it is executing when we are a little tired and pressure is on.

Cash, SK, Sanders/Shaq, Parker, Cheikh. JJ and Rubles off bench, NO Kelvin Gaines, Keep using David the same amount and Guyn the same amount. We need as much offense out there as possible at all times. Cheikh can be in there to be our defensive stopgap. I like Rubles potential, but we just don't seem to play our best with him in the game. JJ is also best coming off the bench.

If we go four-guard or uptempo we will give up 75-80 a game. I want to hear one reasonable argument as to how any five on this team will be able to score 76-81. Not one player can finish around the rim so where are the points going to come from? We tried it in the the first half last night and gave up 37, We went back to suffocating D and although it was horrible on the offensive end we outscored them. This pathetically, brutally painful to watch strategy is our best hope. We are a team with jump shooters who can't hit shots right now. Just have to hope they fall in March. Or hope our D starts holding teams under 50.

We need to find a balance, 60-65 ppg Ish. The problem is, we are too close to one extreme, just good defense, than the other, good offense. Parker can hold his own against the 4 and Cheikh showed that he can be a defensive force. We need to pick something and stick with it, that is the other issue. Mick constantly is mixing and matching, and thus, it is hard for the players to gain any chemistry. We could succeed with a 4 guard offense, we just need to stick with it.

Therein lies the problem. Mick is so busy subbing constantly - trying to keep fresh legs on the floor - that there is NO continuity amongst the players. Napier played every minute vs. UC. Did he look tired? Is he in better physical shape? I doubt it. You strategically rest your players at some point, but not with the constant shuffling in-and-out. These are young players. They should be in peak condition (barring injury).

We need guys to hit open shots. We need guys to make free throws at critical times. We need guys to not turn the ball over 2-3 times in a row when you're up 2 points late and waste posessions. We need guys to DRIVE late in close games and either score or get to the line instead of shooting 3 pointers they have proven over and over they can't consistently make. We need a player who gets an offensive rebound to power the ball back up instead of throwing the ball away on a weak kick back. We need guys to play smart late in close games. These guys look timid in crucial situations and unsure. We need some player leadership emotionally and performance wise from our best player. Kilpatrick needs to go get the ball and make something happen instead of standing on the wing watching Cash dribble. Mentally this team is reeling and they need a win badly. Since Cash got hurt at Depaul UC is 4-5. Coincidence?

And DRIVE more often throughout to avoid being in close games late. I was encouraged to see the Cats get in the lane early against UCONN. But the guards did not get back in there until late in OT.

Well, unfortunately, we don't. None of the above. Nice fantasy. If we had all that, we'd be #1 instead of Indiana.

It would be nice to see at least one of those.

Did anyone else notice the high ball screen that UConn used? Napier used his speed off that high ball screen to get to the rim. The big man didn't just set the screen and stand there. He followed to the boards. We set a high ball screen to take two dribbles and pass it to the wing and have our big man do nothing off of that. Maybe Mick should show UConn film if that's going to be our only means of offense

Took a few days to calm myself down, but I'm still frustrated to see this team under perform
